Lying in my bed

“I have a secret” you claim,

“Underneath the sheets.”

Your skin races

My finger traces

The hemming of the blanket

Tearing it from your grasp.                        

You snatch my pillow

while my eyes were elsewhere,

Holding it to your middle.

Your eyes hold mine, smirking in triumph,

In deceit. Daring me further.

I lunge without fear

Reaching for

The secret

Beneath the pillow.

You carelessly toss it

To take my body

As your new secret.
