For Another Day

You’re walking through a city of confusion,

Every possible emotion running wild,

but Society chalks it all up as delusion.

You walk aimlessly through the streets,

searching for a message, a sign.

As you walk, you become aware of how your heart beats;

Slow, quick, slow, slow.

Nobody looks your way,

No one says hello,

and you begin to wonder who you are.

All you know is your name

and that you’ve walked very very far.

You just want to find a way back,

but you can’t turn away now.

Your fear runs down your cheeks in black;

Why is it so hard?

The sky is blue and white and free,

but somehow you feel barred;

worried that everything will fall down,

worried that if you don’t breathe, you’ll drown.
