「留堂」的不一定是問題學生，但問題學生多半是「留堂」常客。

言東在小學丟三落四，老把功課忘在家裡，成了欠功課「大戶」，因而被長期留下，每天得完成所有功課才能回家。

留堂留多了，便沒感覺，知道老師「山高皇帝遠」在樓上教員室忙，根本沒空下樓察看，也沒空間逐一檢查功課後，言東便把大把時間花在吃飯、做白日夢、跟同學閒聊，幫其他老師種花花草草，留堂生活過得有夠愜意。

說到留堂，怎能不提第一次，我當時可沒這麼「開心」，當下便哭了，留堂對小學二年級的我來說，彷彿世界末日。

至於留堂原因嘛，就是下課鈴響，自以為已經放學，把放在桌上的包裝「TEMPO」當成肉，手起手刀落，用手刀切起紙巾來，發出「砰砰砰」的聲音。
