Dialogue Story - The Knight and a Lady

"So what are we having for lunch?"

"We just climbed six flights of stairs, saved the princess, and slew a dragon, and the first thing you think of is food?"

"What can I say? Slaying fire-breathing lizards and rescuing beautiful princesses with messed up dads, makes me hungry."

"Just stop and help her down the stairwell."

"Why me?"

"In case you haven't noticed, I'm bleeding."

"It isn't that bad."

"My entire shirt is soaked!"

"Yeah, well, next time don't let the dragon scratch you."

"You're the one that pushed me-. No. You know what? You're impossible and I refuse to argue with you. Pick her up and carry her down and I'll keep an eye out for anymore dragons."

"She weighs a ton!"

"Stop complaining."

"Easy for you to say, you're not carrying her."

"She literally is the tiniest girl I've ever seen. Probably didn't eat well considering her dad locked her up in this awful tower without hardly anything-..."

"Oh oh."

"Did you just-?!"

"Do you think she'll notice?"

"The giant lump from you smashing her head into the cobblestone wall? No not at all."

"Good. Oh and potatoes."

"What?"

"I think I want potatoes for lunch."

"I swear you're the most impossible, arrogant, and obnoxious knight I've ever met."

"Say what you want, but we both know you want me."

"Whatever."

"So you admit it?"

"Admit what?"

"That you want me."

"Your fiance is passed out in your arms and you're asking me if I want you?"

"Well, it's not like she can hear us."

"You're a pig."

"A handsome pig."

"Pigs aren't handsome. Watch the last step."

"Well, no, not most pigs, but in this case-"

'Roar!'

"Please tell me that was your stomach."

"Love, if that was my stomach, I'd be more terrified than I am of that fire-breathing lizard flying over the tower right now."

"Here, you run and I'll fight it off."

"A girl rescuing me? I don't think so."

"Think of it as me helping you rescue the damsel."

"No, I'll just set her down."

"For goodness sakes, not on the rickety bridge!"

"She can swim."

"She's unconscious!"

"I didn't say she could swim 'well'."

"You're impossible."

"You've said that already."

"It bears repeating. Here, you go left and I'll-... I said left not right!"

"Do you really want to argue when a dragon is barreling toward us?"

"Ach...!"

"Watch out! Ah ha! We got you now fiend! How does that feel?"

"Probably not good seeing that it's dead and all."

"Maybe we could-"

"We're not eating the dragon!"

"It was just a thought. Jeez."

"Let's go. The king will be expecting us before nightfall."

"Okay, but we need to stop for lunch first."

"Yeah, fine, I think I saw a pub along the way."

"Really?"

"No! We're on a dormant volcano in a land far, far away. There are no pubs!"

"That's a shame. You seem like you need a drink."

"You're impossible."

"And you're utterly in love with me."
