Roses and rot

Does finality not hold a certain sweetness to it?

A pleasing taste to the speaking tongue

No foul stench of reeking lung

That talk of immortality brings to the air

Compared, the two are roses and rot

There is not more than one chance to know the cosmos

But a single existence to live in

Does that not bring excitement?

To my mind’s buds, it is a flavour that drives every meal
