By the time lunch had come around, Rob could not walk by a single room without hearing the mention of a certain PDA. It was odd enough the raven had managed to enroll in school as quickly as he did but the pinkette was surprised that Ace had managed to become the talk of the school in less than a day; before lunch even. Even more, he found it a bit strange that, despite how much the project had made a fuss about not seeing him more than Kaito; Ace had yet to share any classes with him.
'Maybe he just wanted to get out of the house.'
"Robert~!"
Said pinkette looked around the hall as he stood outside the cafeteria. Above the chatter, he recognized the PDA's voice though it was a little unnerving not being able to locate him through the throng of classmates. That problem soon came to an end as he saw the raven wave at him from a crowd of girls.
"Um…hi," the hazel-eyed teen said, waving in an unsure manner.
Smiling at the gesture, Ace made his way through before running up to the smaller classmate. He eyed the one in glasses momentarily before giving him hug, if Rob could call it that. The smaller of the two squirmed in the embrace though that only made the PDA hold him tighter, both gaining squeals from some of the girls.
"A-Ace…" Robbie murmured as the raven began to nuzzle him. "Ace-"
"Yes?"
"Get. Off."
"But I hadn't seen you all day!" the PDA whined, hugging tight enough to keep the other still. "I missed you, you know," he added quietly.
That made the pink-haired teen blush and look down at the tiled floor as he said, "C-can I go eat lunch now?"
"Sure," Ace said cheerily as he nuzzled the one in his inescapable embrace. "Shall we go outside and sit beneath the tree?"
"Fine," Robert grumbled, listening to the constant squeal and giggles coming from the female students as they walked out the door.
Beneath the tree, dull red eyes focused on the pinkette chewing experimentally on the piece of food set before him. The raven cocked his head to the side, aware of the other students, but not seeming to care as they threw curious looks their way. He was enjoying the faces the teen was making.
"Do you like it?" the raven asked as he watched the other place a fork full of noodles into his mouth. "Well?"
Rob chewed slowly before nodding. "It does taste good," he said. "What is it?"
"Pasta alla carbonara," Ace said, watching as the pink-haired teen slurped up a long, thin noodle. "It's Italian," he added with a smile.
"Where did you get it?" Rob asked, setting the fork down.
"I made it."
"When?"
"Earlier today," Ace replied.
"Where?"
"At your house."
"And when did you put this together?" Robert asked, his eyebrow raised slightly.
"Earlier." The pinkette kept his eyebrow arched. "I made it right before I got ready for school."
"And that was?"
"When I made the food or when I was getting ready for school?" Ace asked, tilting his head in the other direction as the teen put another fork full of noodles in his mouth.
"Both and did you even sleep last night?"
"I started getting things ready for school at four this morning as well as, getting your uniform ready and reviewing your homework," Ace said, looking at the black uniform top. "I made the food shortly after ironing your uniform then hurried to the school to get a uniform for myself."
Hazel eyes dropped to the black gakuran top that hugged the PDA rather nicely despite how the raven seemed to loathe the thing. The way he kept pulling on the collar and sleeves gave it away.
"And before you ask again," Ace said, looking back up to catch the teen's gaze, "I don't particularly go to sleep so… it leaves a lot of time to do other things."
"Other things?" The red-streaked raven grinned, making the other fidget slightly. "What kind of-"
"Hey, Rob!"
Said teen turned his head to see Kaito waving at him before he began to walk over. The PDA turned his attention towards the purplette and scowled inwardly as he dropped his gaze back to the pasta that had been abandoned. As talking commenced, Ace began to put away the noodles. He then focused on pulling out a small container as well as another fork.
"Robert," the raven said.
As the hazel-eyed teen went to address the raven, he was cut off as something sweet was coaxed into his mouth. His mouth closed instinctively around the item within and allowed the PDA to pull the fork away. The pinkette's face lit up as he savored the flavor before focusing on Ace placing the utensil down.
"W-what was that?" Robert asked, placing a finger to his lips as if that would bring the flavor back.
"What was that indeed," Kai said irritably after being cut off to see such a thing.
"Tiramisu," Ace said, smiling at the pinkette focusing on the plate. "I made it for you in cooking class."
Rob looked back up. "Cooking class?"
"Of course," the raven replied, earning him an eye roll from the purplette standing by.
"I'll see you after school, alright?" the red-streaked asked as he kept nuzzling the pinkette, his arms wrapped around the smaller frame.
"Ace…"
"Hmm?"
"You said that you'd behave," Robert said as they reached the door. "Now, get off."
"Alright," Ace replied, letting go immediately.
He gave a warm smile as he opened the door, allowing the pinkette to enter before following in behind him.
"In the courtyard," the hazel-eyed teen said, not really understanding why he was setting up a rendezvous.
"Very w-"
"Ace~!"
Said person turned his head to catch a certain redheaded girl, flagging him down.
"Ah, hello, Rebecca, right?" the raven questioned, earning himself a small squeal from the red-haired girl.
"Yes," she said timidly. "Um, I was wondering what your next class was."
"My next class?" The PDA fished through his pocket and pulled out a white piece of paper. "Let's see… Fourth block appears to be my gym class."
"Oh, gym?" the girl asked with a small frown. "Your fifth?"
"Trigonometry."
"Oh, oh, with Mr. Garris?"
Dull burgundy eyes dropped down to the paper. "Yes."
"Oh, could we…um…walk together?" she asked, blushing a bit as the raven looked back at her.
"I was kinda' going to walk with Robert," Ace said.
"Who?"
"You're joking."
"Robert who?" Rebecca asked.
The PDA tilted his head, an eyebrow raised as he gestured the girl to look towards the pink-haired teen that was staring at the floor uncomfortably.
"Are you new too?" she asked Rob.
Said teen shook his head quickly before looking at the pair of blue eyes. "I…share English class with you." She still didn't look convinced. "I sit a seat across from you," the pinkette said with a frustrated sigh.
"Really?"
Hazel eyes dropped back to the floor as their owner shifted the bag on his shoulder while the PDA looked at him.
"Rebecca was it?" Ace asked, looking back at the girl.
"Yes?" she asked, twirling a strand of fiery red hair around her finger.
"I can't walk with you to class, sorry."
"Aww, why?"
A small smile worked its way on his face but it disappeared as soon as it appeared when he pulled the pinkette closer to him.
"I'm walking with Robert."
"After school?"
"I'd be walking with Robert," Ace said, sliding his gaze towards the quieter student. "Isn't that right?"
"I…you…can walk with her if you want…" Rob replied.
His face flushed as he felt a hand cup his cheek and tilt his head to the left. He stared up at the PDA's face and felt his face burn red as the other leaned forward.
'What happened to you behaving?' he thought quickly. "Ace."
"Right." The project focused on the girl to see her face bright red, rivaling the color of her hair. "Like I said, I would be walking with Robert."
"Oh…ok then," she said, turning on her heels. Ace smiled until she turned around again with a yellow piece of paper. "You're new and all so I'm sure you haven't heard, but I'm throwing a party this Saturday."
"Ok?" the PDA said uninterestedly, despite the welcoming look he had in his eye.
"Here," she said holding the flier out. She pulled her hand away quickly once he took it. "I…want you to come too, ok?"
Ace turned his attention to the pinkette. Rob was looking elsewhere, still uneasy from what the PDA guessed to be the girl.
"Where's his flier?" the raven asked.
"Oh, I-"
"I don't want to go if he's not going to be there."
"It's fine, really," Robert said, looking at the PDA before Rebecca. "He'll be th-"
"I won't go if he can't come," Ace said, cutting off the other.
"He can come," Rebecca said quickly.
"Then see you Saturday," the raven said, walking away. "Goodbye now."
"Ah, goodbye, Ace!" she called, waving.
"Bye, Rebecca," Robert said.
His farewell went unnoticed by the redhead as she hurried down the hall with her books pressed to her chest, a smile on her face.
"You like her." Robert looked back as soon as he felt the PDA staring at him. "I want to talk to you about that after school." The pinkette felt a shiver run down his spine. "Until then, bye," Ace said with a smile, masking the somewhat demanding tone he had just a few moments ago.
The pinkette furrowed his brow as he watched the raven walk towards the gym, giving a few smiles, nods of the head or a verbal acknowledgement to those who had spoken. Once he was out of sight, Rob walked to his own class.
Upon reaching the gym, Ace stood before the locker rooms, looking the doors over that led to the boys lockers then over at the one leading towards the girls. He watched as students went in with their own gym clothes and he fished through his bag to pull out the black shorts and white shirt given to him by the school. He studied the second uniform for a moment before walking into the boy's entrance to change.
He saw that others were already changing into their uniforms so he looked for his locker. Coming upon locker A135, he smiled and stored his things before slipping the top off. He froze as he heard a shrill whistle and looked towards the entrance leading towards the gym. Seeing how several others had begun to change faster, he followed their led until he was dressed in his gym attire and out the door.
The coach had already formed a line long the basketball court and was taking roll.
"Ace."
Said person came forward and stood in an opening in the line. He gave a small smile at the man with the whistle, unsure of what else to do. Nevertheless, the coach regarded him for brief moment before moving down the line. After attendance was complete, the PDA watched as the gym teacher picked up a ball prior to splitting the line in half and telling the others to walk to the other side of the gym.
Dark red eyes watched as several other students placed similar round objects along the center line of the gym.
"Today's game is dodge ball," the man announced as he looked towards the teams getting ready. "Rules are simple. No face shots and no stepping over the line. Clear?" Several students nodded while others voiced their acknowledgement. "Begin!"
The whistle blew and the two teams ran forward, only Ace remaining behind as he tried to analyze what to do. His eyes lidded slightly as he tried to find the right data. He blinked and allowed his eyes to regain their focus as he felt something tap against his foot. Kicking the object up to his hand, Ace watched the students throwing the balls at each other and couldn't help but cock his head to the side as he watched a ball hit someone in the arm. They walked off, mumbling quietly and a small laugh from the other team caught the PDA's attention.
Looking in the direction of the noise, Ace's gaze rested upon the purplette, Kaito, holding a ball in his hand. The teen stopped when he noticed the raven staring at him curiously with a ball in his own hand. Confusion was clearly seen on the PDA's face and the smoky-eyed teen smirked as realization donned on him.
Taking aim, Kai threw the ball and all the other did was stand in place to see a red, rubber ball hurtling towards his face.
