「可惡的作者！把我的人生還來！」

決心成為勇者的少年，就在夢想剛剛起步之際，被告知故事到此為止，理由是：

作者棄坑了。

面對突如其來的打擊，少年只好接受自己是個被套了老土設定兼且有著詞窮缺陷的主人公，在只有筆名作為線索的情況下，踏上漫長的尋找作者之旅。

旅途中，少年遇上各式各樣的人們，有和從前伙伴長得很相似的少女，有以生命來創作故事的「一書作家」，還有致力培育寫手的奇怪學會……

與這些人相處的過程中，少年似乎逐漸了解到「作者」在創作自己時的心情。
