故事發生在吉良吉影死後的兩年後的2001年4月，手井常繼(てい じょうけい)初中畢業後入讀葡萄丘高中，因為當年吉良吉廣不斷「箭」制造出大量替身使者，其中一部分並未能為吉良吉廣所用，他們後來發現自己的替身能力能替自己帶來便利，於是就開始濫用替身能力，開始為杜王町的和平帶來新的威脅。
