Last night I dreamt about you

and of how we don't speak anymore

but you'll never tell me the truth

with such a liar tongue,

so I keep myself from calling you,

even though it hurts

it's been two years now and looking back

you would never be what I wished you were.

I've shown my scars to anyone I've ever met

they've all stitched up my wounds and then decided they didn't care

and some other catch-phrase

that I thought it kind of made sense,

which proves now how desperate I felt.

and congratulations for being even worse

than I thought you could possibly be

and thank you for fooling me

into thinking

that I could be king and you would be queen.

Sometimes I hate myself for going to sleep with a smile on my face,

back when we used to talk all night and everything felt just great,

but looking back now I realize I was amusing myself,

while you never had anything to say.
