I see what I see

and what I see is real to me

I'm painting my face and cutting my wings

and I don't care about the world as long as I don't feel it at all.

Feeling is hurting and hurting is wrong

I'm afraid of bleeding and being forgotten

mister I'm mad, mister I'm rotten.

I won't ask you to be freed for I just don't care

I'm a slave anyway to my body and head

I'm afraid of what's out there, I can't find air.

I'm afraid of the cure

for I want to stay pure

I'm scared of my family, of the way that they stare

for I know they'll leave me though they say that they care.

I like feeling pretty, I love wearing dresses you see

please comb my hair, won't you put some make-up on me?

and I don't care about words, as long as I don't use them at all.

Using is abusing and abusing is wrong

I'm afraid of losing and being controlled

doctor, I'm dirty, doctor, I'm poor.

And even if you hate my poetry I just don't care

it's all about that one time that I've lost my head

and I refuse to feel fine, I just want to go on

a lifetime ago, you know, I was just dumb and blonde.
