夜郎國是中國在西南地區由少數民族的先民建立的第一個國家。

夏商時屬百濮地，《國語·鄭語》云：「楚鼢冒始啟濮」，又《史記正義》載:「濮在楚西南」。

夜郎成名問世，大約是在戰國時期，楚襄王（公元前298年一前262年）派「將軍莊躍溯沈水，出且蘭（今貴州福泉市），以伐夜郎王」，「且蘭既克，夜郎又降」。這時，人們方知西南有一夜郎國。


夜郎國被中原政權記述的歷史，大致起於戰國，至西漢成帝和平年間，夜郎王興同脅迫周邊二十二邑反叛漢王朝，被漢朝牂柯太守陳立所殺，夜郎也隨之被滅，前後約300年。

本故事純屬虛構，如有雷同，實屬巧合。
