"John! I can't believe you followed me on my date!"

Someone screeched into my ear.

I woke with a start.

"Argh, Vicky..."

"Johnny?"

This was Steven speaking.

I looked around. Peering down at me anxiously was Steven, another girl and Vicky (or at least angrily in her case).

The other girl had long, straight, lilac-coloured hair and the most beautiful azure-blue eyes.

She caught me looking at her and smiled.

"I'm Joy," she introduced herself politely.

"Joy..." I murmured

"You knocked yourself out," Steven added helpfully.

"Oh, yes..."

"Are you dizzy?"

This was Joy.

"Nope..."

"How many fingers am I holding up?"

"...

"Five."

"You don't seem to have any head concussions," she concluded. "So you should be fine-"

"Not when I'm done with him!" Vicky growled.

I raised my hands in surrender.

"Now, it's ok, Vicky," Steven reassured her. "Now let's just..."

"Oh, yes!"

The sudden change in Vicky's facial expressions explained it all.

"It's alright, Johnny," he whispered. "I'll take care of her."

I nodded in appreciation and understanding and Steven left with Vicky.

Joy smiled sweetly and went away.

I felt my heart flutter.
