First there is a sneak peak to later in the novel included. The first training session Jack, Luke, Bethany, and Alicia have before their quest begins. Jack has unusual magical abilities that he shouldn't have until after going to the Academy of Sorcery. Once he and the other fifteen year olds were Selected they must complete their test. However as they go to complete their test a dark plan unfolds. Jack is faced with a choice that will determine the outcome of their town and possibly the world. It affects his friends and everyone he loves. Will he make the right choice is the question we must ask.
