I will never be like you

I will not be the monster my children hide from

I will not be the looming fear

Sounds

The cold envelopes me

From things that might

Hurt me

The cold speaks

With a voice that is

Sweet

Like sugar

But too sweet

The kind of sweet that

Makes you sick
