Author's Pov.
Adeline is a small girl living in an orphanage and she dosen't know who her parents are, the only thing she knows is that her parents left her a letter. Which certainly disappoints her.......
Adeline's Pov.
It was another long boring day. I wake up, and get dressed... when I hear Miss Stella call my name. 346Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡtiAPHyNAgu
I go down thinking she must've called me for breakfast so, as usual I make my way towards the dining table, when Miss Stella drags me to the kitchen. i get confused and give her a perplexed look.
"Adeline,go pack your bag right now." She said. I don't see why someone would like to adopt me. Not that I've never been adopted before. And I've gotten back here due to certain reasons.
"Why?" I ask confused.
"Because tomorrow, you're getting picked up by your parents." She replied with a gentle smile on her lips.
"You mean the ones who left me here as soon as I was born?" I asked, my smile widening.
"We tracked them down and called them, asking if they would like to take you home." She replied, observing me closely and taking in my expression. "It took 2 days for them,to make a decision." She added cautiously.
"Now you pack your bag after you finish your breakfast." I nodded.
I went to the table and saw my best friend (or should I say my only friend) sitting on the table waiting for me. The thought of leaving her just made my heart ache. I didn't know how she would react,when I told her the news.
I went over to her and sat down beside her.
"Why did Miss Stella pull you to the kitchen?" She asked.
I didn't reply or look at her, I didn't want to tell her.
"Adeline? Is everything fine?" She asked.
"Fine." I replied.
The rest of the breakfast, went in silence.
I quickly finished my food and went upstairs.
I pulled out my suitcase and just stared at it. How would Alyssa react when I told her? Would she be able to bear it? I open the suitcase and start packing when the door opens and Alyssa walks in.
"Don't tell me you're leaving?" She asks.
"Well, Miss Stella found out about my real parents and their picking me up tomorrow." I replied.
"That's Amazing!" She exclaimed. "I'm so happy for you." She said with a fake smile.
I knew she wasn't really happy. I could see it on her face. She was very bad at lying. I sighed and continued packing. After I was finished. I looked around the room checking for one last time. And I removed the posters of Taylor Swift I had hung on my side of the room.
Alyssa and I loved Taylor Swift like hell. We've always wished she would adopt us. But, we knew that was never gonna happen anyways. She had more bigger problems to deal with.
By the time I finished, it was already lunch time and I was very hungry. I looked up at Alyssa but she didn't move an inch. She was just sitting on her bed and staring blankly at the wall opposite her. She wasn't really staring at it. She was just in her own world. I knew she was sad about the fact that I was leaving.
I walked over to her and sat down beside her. When she did not look up, I shook her a bit and her head jerked up as she looked at me.
"Come on, it's lunch time." I said.
"You go I'm not hungry." She replied.
"Are you sure you're not hungry?"
"Yeah, you can go."
I go down and start eating. Miss Stella walked over to me and asked me about Alyssa.
"Is Alyssa coming down to eat?" She asks.
"No." I reply.
"Why?"
"Maybe because she's just sad.....I told her about my parents." I reply.
She sighed and walked away. I finish my lunch quickly and go back upstairs, to find out that Alyssa is sleeping. I sighed.
I sit on my bed and go through my Instagram.Soon, It's time for dinner. I'm wasn't really hungry so, I didn't go down. After sometime, I realize Alyssa hadn't eaten anything.
I walk over to her and wake her up.
"Go, eat something." I said.
"I'm not hungry." She said and went back to sleep.
"Don't be silly." I say pulling the blanket away from her. She gets up annoyed. Before, she can say anything else I drag her downstairs. She tries protesting but I don't listen to her.
We finish our dinner and go upstairs. Alyssa takes something out of her wardrobe. It's a bracelet.
"Here, it was my mother's before, but you can have it now." She said. It's a beautiful bracelet and look somewhat like this:
"But, that the only thing you have from your family. I think you should keep it." I protest.
She shakes her head. "No, I have this." She pulls out, what looked like a necklace for a second, out of her shirt. It's a locket. She opens it and shows it to me.
"Miss Stella gave it to me today, early morning when you were sleeping. She said, it was from my parents." She explained. "What, you look like you've seen a ghost!" She said laughing at my expression.
"You sure she is your mother?" I asked. One of them was empty and the other was...
"Yeah," She said now her expression puzzled. "Miss Stella, said so, why?"
"Have you looked what's inside?"
"No, you see I was so sleepy at the time."She said, now turning the locket towards her.
As she does that her eyes widened as she screamed and tears burst through her eyes.
Miss Stella bursts through the door. "My god! You two scared me. I was coming to check on you when- " She notices Alyssa crying hysterically. "What's wrong Alyssa?"
"The locket you had given me......" She slowly turns the locket towards Miss Stella and she gets shocked too!........

Hey guys! Finally after an eternity. I'm so sorry to post this late but I hope you like it. Also this chapter is of 1084 words (No wonder I'm somehow exhausted).
What do you think? Who was in that locket. Also I might start writing 'A Sparkling Mist' again!!!!
