Guard with your life the gilded vail

Sing to the void your jaded soul

The paths from us are paved in fool’s gold

 

Tell your secrets to quiet strangers

Heed the warnings, ignore the dangers

Speak cold truths to the silent wall

An unsteady crutch against the fall

 

Take deep breaths until you don’t 

A broken heart beats ‘til it won’t 

Ask of me what you will

I’ll answer still
