Obsidian felt herself strike at her attacker with her right fore paw. The perpetrators underbelly felt soft and had a bright orange color to it.
Wait a second… Obsidian realized.
“Sherbert! Why are you attacking me!” Obsidian shouted for the first time in her life.
“Sorry. Did not mean for my braveness to hurt you.” Sherbert responded as he got off her. “Why are you out here anyway?”
“Looking for answers to my burning questions.” Obsidian mumbled.
“Good thing I heard you leave the dorm room! Without me, you could die!” Sherbert replied.
“Hmph! I don’t need you.” Obsidian responded. She ran off, to get away from Mr.Brags A Lot and look for answers to her burning questions.
“Wait up! I want to go with you!” Sherbert called.
“Fine. Come with me.” Obsidian replied.
The two cats padded over to a nearby rabbit hole. Obsidian dug the entrance wide enough for the two cats to squeeze through.
“We will be sleeping in there.” Obsidian mumbled to Sherbert.
“Fine, I will sleep with rabbits.” Sherbert responded.
The two cats squeezed through the hole with ease. The rabbit hole happened to be abandoned so no rabbits would disturb them. The cats curled up next to each other and eventually fell asleep.378Please respect copyright.PENANArq8iYK2eH9

Obsidian woke up, confused at first when she was in a hole. But as she remembered what happened last night, she felt the urge to go and find the answers to the questions she needed answers to, but as she rose, she woke up Sherbert.
“Hey, why did you wake me up!” He yelled.
“Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you.” Obsidian replied.
“Okay.” Sherbert responded.
“Anyways, what should we eat?” Obsidian asked in a whisper.
“Should we try hunting or should we pick berries?” Asked Sherbert.
“Hunting would be more safe. The berries could be poisonous.” Obsidian mumbled in response.
The two cats went out hunting and caught two rabbits. Obsidian cooked the meat and served it. After eating, the two cats set off to look for the answers Obsidian needed.378Please respect copyright.PENANAgERjJYpvjm

That night Obsidian had another dream. One that sparked even more questions. The cats had been walking in circles that day. Finding absolutely nothing.
Obsidian was standing alone, in complete darkness. She ran and ran, looking for anything other than darkness. After a couple minutes of running, she decided to sit and think. Just letting her mind wander away. She eventually felt the ground shake. She didn’t run or anything, it was not like this was real life or anything. No way she could get hurt. Still, when she fell to the ground, she felt a little bit of pain. She got up, unscathed, and looked around. She suddenly caught sight of a black cat with dull green eyes and a purple fire outlining him. Darkness. Obsidian thought.
Darkness suddenly leapt at her, claws unsheathed. Obsidian blew him back with a strong gust of wind. Weird. My powers work. Obsidian thought. Darkness quickly got up, charging at Obsidian again. Obsidian stepped out of the way and blew him back again. Darkness blasted a ball of black stuff at Obsidian, she countered by blowing it back at him. Suddenly, she woke up.
Sherbert slept peacefully, probably dreaming about being heroic or candy. Probably candy. Obsidian went back to sleep because she was still tired.378Please respect copyright.PENANAEV9yIfZXhI

Obsidian slowly awoke in the morning, still feeling groggy. The dim light of dawn filtered in through the entrance to the tree hollow the cats decided to sleep in, revealing a snoozing Sherbert curled up peacefully beside her. Obsidian got up carefully, making sure not to disturb Sherbert. She made sure her whiskers did not brush the sides of the hollow entrance as she left the safety of the hollow.
Obsidian walked around for a bit until she found a small pool of water. She sniffed the water, making sure it was safe to drink before lapping up a little bit of it.
Obsidian decided to look for some berries, even though she risked being poisoned. She found a short blueberry bush. She picked off some berries with her mouth and gobbled them up. Not much, but it will have to do.
Obsidian suddenly caught sight of a pair of green eyes, but not Sherbert’s. Sherbert’s eyes did not have that annoyed and irritated glint in them all the time. These eyes belonged to another first year cat. One she knew would tattle on her if she could get back to the academy.
Snow was looking straight at her, through a bush of course.
Snow suddenly burst out of the bush, looking more worried than annoyed at this point. Obsidian jumped a little in surprise and dashed back to the tree hollow.
“Obsidian! Wait! I won’t tattle on you!” Snow pleaded.
Obsidian stopped in her tracks, right in front of the tree hollow. Sherbert climbed out of the hollow, clearly irritated by being woken up so rudely.
“Obsidian, why did you- Snow! What in the fiddlesticks are you doing here!” Sherbert groaned.
“I came to find you and Obsidian.” Snow responded coolly.
“What about the others?” Asked Sherbert.
“I convinced them to stay there.” Snow replied. “It would be suspicious if we all disappeared within a day.”
Clever cat. But she is still more annoying than Sherbert. Obsidian thought.
“I also brought a map of the woods so we could find our way back.” Snow continued.
“We are not going back. Well, not yet.” Obsidian managed to respond in more than a loud whisper.
“Why not? Going back is the logical thing to do! It is warm and safe at the academy!” Snow replied.
“I need to find answers.” Obsidian replied.
“Answers to what?!” Responded Snow.
“She needs answers to questions regarding the prophecy.” Sherbert replied.
“Can’t you just ask a teacher for answers?” Responded Snow.
“For one, that would be suspicious to the teachers. Two, the teachers know nothing about the prophecy.” Sherbert replied. Obsidian assumed Snow would hate to admit Sherbert was right.
“Fine, you're right, Sherbert.” Snow groaned.
“See? I am clearly the brains here.” Sherbert bragged.
Ugh! Sherbert is being brags a lot again! Obsidian complained in her head.
Obsidian and Sherbert walked away from Snow to set off for answers. Of course, Snow dashed after them.
“Wait! You may need someone who knows how to navigate!” Snow called after them.
“Fine. Come with us.” Obsidian responded.378Please respect copyright.PENANAAf215BrZr4
