I jolted awake at the blasting sound that my alarm clock produced. I sleepily reached for it and turned it off. 

Morning and me don't get along. Especially now that I'm trying to recover from a broken heart. The basic remedies are food and sleep. Since, I'm too lazy to fix myself something to eat; I settled on sleeping. 

But it looks like I'm not gonna get even that. 

So, angrily, I made my way towards the bathroom and opened the shower. I stripped while I await the water to heat. 

I stepped inside the shower stall and the hot water calmed my nerves. It worked. But it worked too much. The calmness made me remember the happenings of yesterday. 

Hunter, my boyfriend of three years, broke up with me. And he didn't even had the nerve to say it to my face. The jerk just called me. Ended things in a few 'chosen' words. 

"We're done." I muttered angrily. Repeating his words.

So much for our three years of relationship. 

I turned the shower off and covered my body in a robe without bothering to dry it off. 

I went straight to the kitchen and opened my fridge.

 

"Great." I cursed under my breathe. "Empty. The perfect time to ran out of food!"

I stomped angrily to the living room where the first thing I saw was the calendar in the wall. 

February 14. 

I sighed. Alone and angry on Valentine. What a sad way to live. 

Then, my eyes wondered on the phone. I was tempted to call the jerk who dumped me over the phone. And I dived towards it like my life was depending on it. 

I dialed his number. But my finger stayed above the call button. I took a deep breathe and erased his number only to dial a new one. 

After making the call, I threw the phone on the sofa and sat in the carpeted floor. I stared angrily at the ceiling as I wait. 

The doorbell rung and I rushed towards the door. I opened it and saw a delivery boy wearing a cute panda hat standing outside. 

"Cute hat." I said with a smile. 

"Delivery?" He said though it came out as a question.

"Yes, thank you." I said as I took it. 

I instinctively reached for my pocket only to remember I was wearing a robe.

"Oops." I said sheepishly. "Wait here."

Without bothering to close the door, I rushed towards my room and took my wallet. But when I came back the hallway was empty. There was no sign of the delivery boy. 

Though there was a note on the floor. Beside it was a chocolate. I picked it up and it looked like it was written in a rush.

"It's my treat.

Happy Valentine's Day.

I couldn't help but smile. Maybe this Valentine's day isn't so bad after all.
