Screaming

Lips trembling

I open my mouth

I want to scream

I want to shout

But I’m underwater, and no one’s here

It’s like my words disappear

There is so much

I want to say

To tell the truth

Finally

But I’m underwater, and no one’s here

I know the truth

I know what to say

So why do I

Hesitate

I’m underwater, and no one’s here

It’s like my words disappear

Drowning my words

Drowning my thoughts

I’m trying to breathe

But I cannot

I’m underwater, and no one’s here

It’s like my words disappear

I seize my pen

I make a mark

It’s not much

But it’s a start

I’m underwater, and no one’s here

It’s like my words disappear

I brandish my courage

And write my tale

Of joy and hope

And of despair

I’m underwater, and no one’s here

I look around

To my suprise

Someone else is

Here inside

I’m underwater, and someone’s here

Will my words still disappear?

I scream again

This time louder

They hear my call

And swim to comfort

I’m underwater but someone’s here

My broken words won’t disappear

She holds me tight

And I can trust her

I show her my tale

And hear the thunder

Joined together

We kick off the ground

Swimming for the sun

To breathe again
