Earlier before meeting Alice…
Connor O’Sullivan’s POV
It was the same vision, over and over again. It was the very first sight of Clive and his soulmate met. They met at a ball that was held by the Count. They were dripping in silver and jewelry, like an aristocrat of the past would wear. I watched the scene played over and over again as Clive danced with her. The very person that started all of this. And all because she wanted to be more powerful than Clive.
‘Connor, wake up. Connor!’ My sister’s voice came into my dream as I was trying to look for her.
‘Ophelia? Where are you?’ I asked her as I looked around but no one that I know. I was still in the dream.
‘Ouvrir,’ i chanted before I opened my eyes and I was back in my room.
‘Connor,’ Ophelia said before she pulled me into a hug.
‘we thought we lost you,’ my mum said as I tried to get up but Ophelia stopped me.
‘Woah, brother. You need to rest. Your energy was draining. Sleep now. Dormir,’ she chanted over me and I went to sleep immediately.
‘hahaha,’ a voice came into my ears as I opened my eyes. I was in another period, another body.
‘Come on, Clive, let’s go,’ a voice called for me. I somehow felt that I was Clive. I walked toward the voice before I was looking for its source.
‘Abigail. Come out now. We need to go home. Stop playing around,’ my voice came out as I was looking at the tree.
‘try to catch me then,’ I looked at the tree before someone came out. She had red hair and her eyes were icy blue.
‘Abigail, don’t make me go to you,’ I said as I was trying to frighten the girl.
‘i’m not afraid of you, young warlock,’ she said happily before she disappeared. I looked around for her but she was nowhere to be found.
‘Hello, Clive,’ a dark figure suddenly came into the view and everything was black.
I opened my eyes again but this time, I was breathless. It was surreal and I felt like I just run a marathon. I don’t know what was real and what’s not.
‘mercy, Lord,’ I prayed for the first time after I have this strange gift and nightmare. I prayed and prayed as I know the only way to save me this time was to give it all to the All-mighty.
In the morning, I went to the gym to release my stress as I have promised Alice to come to my home. I smiled as I was hitting the weight.
‘Woah, someone in a good mood,’ Ethan said as he came inside shirtless. He must have gone running in the woods.
‘Where’s Luke?’ He asked. I stopped in my punching before I looked at him.
‘don’t you know?’ I asked him.
‘know what?’ He asked.
‘well, Luke kind of ditched us for the holiday and went to Portugal. He said he wanted to ‘clean his head, but I think he wanted to meet someone there. I heard she was his mentee back in Romania,’ I said as I took a bottle and opened it. I was parched before I finished the drink in one gulp.
‘wow, someone thirsty, thirsty for something else,’ Ethan said before he exited the gym to hit the shower.
‘Shut up,’ I shouted at him before I went to hit the shower as well. I let the cold shower to hit me. I was relaxing as I felt my muscles ached and sore from my exercise.
‘This is nice,’ I said as I looked at the mirror inside the shower. I blinked before I saw someone was behind me. I sharply turned around before I looked around me. There was no one.
‘i must be dreaming,’ I said as I went to get the towel as I steppe outside the shower.
‘Allez-moi. Vous êtes ma chére,’ i chanted silently as I put the rose inside the jar. I was doing some spell before I went to meet Alice. I had to do it before she rejected me over and over again. I don't want to waste any more time.
‘right. Here goes,’ I said before I drink the rose tea and it was not all that bad. I felt energetic actually.
‘let’s ride,’ I said before I went out of the room. I put the cup down before it started to do something weird. I don't know what but I will be doomed if I don't act fast.
Present Time
Alice Hughes’ POV
I had packed all the things that I was supposed to be used during the 2 nights stay at Connor’s house. I don't know why I felt fidgety. We’re not even a couple, to begin with.
maybe that’s why, I felt like I was about to meet my in-laws, I thought as I exhaled. Some smokes came out of my mouth as I saw Connor’s Jetta pulled out in my driveway. He got out and oh my, he looked delicious as ever.
‘hey! Have you been waiting for me for long?’ He asked as he went to hug me. I don't know what was happening to me when he was near but I felt safe and something else.
‘no, no, I just got out of the house and you pulled over,’ I said as I don't want to hurt his feeling. I know it was not intentional but I hated it when he felt sad. I have a secret and that secret was I know when someone was feeling. I called it intuition, but I know it was more than that.
‘well, let’s get inside the car. The wind is freezing,’ he said as he pulled the door for the passenger seat.
‘thank you,’ I said before getting inside the car. He put my backpack inside the trunk and went to his side.
‘Are you ready?’ He asked me before he turned up the heat. That’s felt nice.
‘well, as I will ever be,’ I said as I looked at him. His red eyes were glowing. I don't know what to make of it but I just stared at him.
‘Alice, if you keep staring at me like that, I might kiss you,’ he said as he looked at my lips. I exhaled. then, I replied to the most stupid answer that I could say.
‘then, why don’t you?’ I said before Connor pulled me onto his laps and I straddled him.
‘you such a tease,’ he whispered before he kissed me. It was explosive but in a good way. I moaned before I snaked my hands around his neck.
‘Hmm,’ he grunted before he pulled at my hair and pushed me closer to him.
‘shouldn’t we keep your family waiting?’ I asked him after he broke the kiss.
‘well, they already know about this,’ he said before he kissed me again. He laid his chair in a horizontal line and he was kissing me intensely. I could not keep up with him.
‘Connor,’ I mumbled before he put me at his arm’s length.
‘i still don't ask your father to go any further than this,’ he said as his eyes were training on me. I gasped. Is he…?
‘Are you proposing to me?’ I asked him as he looked at me intensely. We were staring at each other for like 1 minute before Connor chuckled at me.
‘this way was much worse than what I planned for you.’ He said as he pulled the chair up and he pulled something from his jacket. It was a red box.
‘for me?’ I asked as I looked at him opened the box.
‘Alice Hughes, will you be honor be my bride? I know it was a short period but I think that we’ re—‘
‘yes,’
‘no, wait I was not finished—sorry, did you say yes?’ He asked me.
‘yes,’ I replied before I went to kiss him.i pulled his face close to me and I can sense that he was smiling in our kiss.
After a few hours drive to his house, we were coming into the view of a great mansion with Gothic architecture.
‘woah,’ I said as I was breathtaking by the house, I mean mansion.
‘yeah, I know. We like to go extra in our wealth,’ he joked before he laughed but it was not sincere. I looked at him before I took his hand. He looked at me before he smiled at me. I smiled at Connor before he took my hand and kissed it. The ruby engagement ring is shown in the moonlight.
‘come,’ he said before got out and opened my door.
‘Welcome home, sir,’ his butler greeted us before I looked at him.
‘Hello,’ I said as I waved at him. He was moved.
‘Ah, yes. Carl, this is my fiancée, Alice. Alice this is Carl, my butler,’ he said before I nodded at him.
‘Shall I took all your things to your room, sir?’ He asked Connor.
‘yes, please,’ Connor replied before taking my hand and we walked toward the mansion.
