Katrina Kuznetsov’s POV
“Volkov, do you see my sister?” I asked as I was looking all over for her. She did not turn up at the breakfast this morning and now that I was about to leave, she was nowhere to be found.
“I’m sorry, mistress, but I forgot to inform you that Ms. Karla will be gone for now. She called me yesterday from a place called Bosnia, I supposed. She said that she had to find herself now that your father has…been unavailable for her, to guide her,” Mr. Volkov said as he looked at me. I was thinking, in deep thoughts of my own.
“I see, very well. Do you have her number or something?” I asked him. He shook his head.
“I’m sorry, mistress, it was a private number,” he said, bowing at me. I waved my hands at him.
“Don’t be sorry, I’m sure if she wanted to call me, she will. anyway, I'll get going now. My husband needs something,” I said as I went upstairs to my, I mean our, room.
“Honey, do you need help?” I asked as I emerged from the door. Conall was looking at something with seriousness in his eyes. He was standing next to the window with the papers in his hands. I never saw him in this posture but it made him even more ravishing if I say so myself.
“Oh, Katrina, love, I don’t see you coming in,” he said before he put down the papers and worked his way to me before he kissed me squarely on the lips. I broke the kiss before I looked at the papers and him.
“What are you reading?” I asked him as I went to the table. He put his hand behind my lower back as he urged me to take a look at the paper.
“It was nothing but I would love to have an opinion from you,” he said as he pulled out a chair at me. I sat on it before he put the papers in front of me.
“Wow, did you plan this all yourself?” I asked as I looked at him. Conall laughed as his eyes twinkled with mischief.
“Yes, love, but now that you will be living with me together, I want to have your opinion on it as well. I know how you’re very perceptive of things that guy tend to miss,” he said as he put his arms around my neck and his chest was behind my back. I can sense his body heat radiated from him as I was inhaling his masculine scent.
“I have some adjustment to the estate when you will be organizing and help me when I was not available at the estate,” he said as he shows me an update of the ballroom, the master bedroom, and a few little add-ons that he wished me to comment on. I was too overwhelmed before I stopped him and turned to look at him.
“Wait, did you just said that I will be managing your estate?” I asked as I was confused by his statement.
“yes, love. You see in my country when we’re the gentlemen are out on business trips and such, you as my wife will be in charged of everything, including my financial,” he said as he took a seat beside me. He looked at me and hold my hands.
“now, not most man would be comfortable enough with their wife managing their money but I think that you are the perfect person for this job,” he said as he pulled me onto his laps.
“I don’t make a bad judgment on you, didn’t I, love?” He said as he laughed at me. I was glaring at him for making fun of my math skills.
“well, I may not be a scientist or a CEO of an international company but you do realize your wife has mad skills in killing and assassination, right?” I said as I arched my eyebrow at him. He laughed as he caressed my back.
“How can I forget? You always remind me that,” he said before he pulled me for a kiss. After that, he looked at his watch and cursed silently.
“we’re way behind our schedule, love. I promised my employees that I will be home in 4 hours. I suppose you have done everything that you need for the official move?” He asked as he looked at me. I was nervous when he said it like that. I don't think that I will be moving out of my childhood home forever now.
“don’t worry, love. We’ll be back to visit them or whenever a vacation that I can make for you to visit if your sister was home. I supposed I don't see Karla today. Where is she?” He asked as he looked at me. I sighed before I told him what Mr. Volkov told me. He was silent for a while.
“Hmm, that’s bound to happen. Just let her be. She would eventually be back after she found herself and all other discoveries that she can get from her travel,” he said before getting up from his seat. He helped me to stand on my own before he went to take the last luggage on the bed.
“Shall we, Mrs. Reid?” He asked as he was smirking at me. I took his offered hand before glaring at him.
“I don't think I change my name to yours?” I said as I was smirking as well.
“ah, but you forget. We’re going to leave in Scotland and if you want to officially be mine, and you are, you need to change it,” he said as we were getting to the stairs as the servants were bowing at us.
“And I know you love it,” he whispered in my ears that made me tingled with lust.
“I suppose, but who knows, I might end up with someone else who is not Reid as their last name,” I said before I ran out of his arms and headed toward the car.
“you’re so going to pay for that,” he shouted before I went inside the car and waited for mad Conall Reid to make up for the rest.
It was a very tiring journey, even though we were traveling in Conall’s private jet. I have been playing hard to get with Conall but he was so busy that he did not even notice my flirtation with him. He just nodded and got his eyes on the laptop after our short conversation. I sighed, am I going to be treated like this for now?
“your grace, we have arrived in Scotland, sire,” the captain said before Conall closed his laptop and went to get the stuff out of the plane. I unbuckled my seatbelt as I went to take my stuff and got out of the plane.
“Sire,” Tommy said as he bowed at us.
“Tommy, thank you for your great service, I take it from here,” he said before he took the keys in Tommy’s hand before pulled me inside his arms.
“Where are we going? I thought there would be a driver or something,” I whispered at him as I looked at the slick black Aston Martin waiting in the hangar. Conall chuckled at my statement.
“What, you don’t like my driving?” He asked as he looked at me. I don’t think that he would be driving as I imagined he would tell me something about his home country and seduced me as we went to his estate.
“Don’t worry, love. You will be getting that much more tonight,” he said as he looked at me. I don’t know what to say as I only see the desire in his eyes.
“Come now, don’t sulk with me. You will miss all the fun,” he said as he opened the door for me. I got inside the car and was waiting for Conall to get to the driver’s seat and went to ignite the car and drove off from the private hangar of his jet.
The scenery of the highlands was no joke. It was nice and scenic, they all green and just forest after forest. I can always get used to this, with no buildings and just nature to surround me.
“Do you like it, love?” He said as he kissed my right hand before putting it on his well-built thigh.
“Yes, it was wonderful and nice. I love it here,” I said as I looked out the forest, dangerously trying to get the mind off my hand which was near his private part.
“well, I was happy to see that you love it. We’ll be staying at my summer house on the coast of Gairloch. It was near to Redpoint beaches. We can resume our honeymoon there,” he said as he was smiling wickedly at me. I rolled my eyes but I smiled at his remark. And my heartbeat fasten. Can he be more devilish than he already was? after that small talk and other flirtation that was going on inside the car, we have arrived at our destination.
“Here we are,” he said as he opened my door and offered me his hand. I took it before I got out of the car. It was a private beach, there will be no one to disturb us. How I loved that idea.
“would you like to see the house?” He asked as he took my hand. I went inside with him as there was no one and it was quite as well as there was no one to disturb us.
“Is there no employee here?” I asked before he opened the door and invited me inside the house. I took off my coat and scarf as I looked around the house. It was not big but not tiny either. It was quaint, to say the least. I loved it as it felt homey and nice.
“here’s the kitchen and living room. Upstairs will be the master bedroom and two guest rooms. Do you want to see them?” Conall asked as he was pulling me inside his arms.
“I don’t know, you’re the head of the house. I think you need to lead the way,” I whispered as I can feel our hot breaths mingled with each other.
“I think I will christen the bed with you now,” he said before he scooped me and went to the stairs, two steps at a time. I laughed before we disappeared inside the master bedroom and indulged in our awaited desires.
