Oswin Henderson is a young boy in his preteens born in the heat of a war among the gods. Being born from a wizard father and a human mother, he possesses a weak body that is unable to contain magic. When his father rejoins the war, Oswin is left alone to defend his village. He abuses his powers, and it is beginning to show as he grows sick. Yet there is an opportunity that falls from the heavens to him, and it is up to him to take it, or risk his life overusing his powers.
