Your character has been blind since birth. They have never seen the world before. An accident somehow gives them their sight back. (You don't need to obsess over the science behind them getting their sight back, it just happens).
What do they see when they first look at the world?
Do they marvel at the colors? Do they congratulate mankind for their art? Do they despise mankind for destroying the Earth? Are they surrounded by warmth and happiness or a cold and dark life? Was the accident that triggered their sight in the basement of the person that kidnapped them? Is the first thing they ever see the dark, rotting, horrifying, blood covered walls of the basement? Does jumping into the cold water of a lake trigger their sight somehow? Is the first thing they see the warm hues of color radiating from the sun and shining across the clear blue water?
Which of these questions will your story answer?
