Today is my birthday, I'm now nineteen years old. For my celebration, I got an apartment to live in, as a gift from my mother. This apartment is gorgeous. I absolutely love it, but it has a problem.
The location is horrendous, at the back of my apartment building is a haunted house. People say the house has been haunted for over thirty years. Another common, yet incredibly worrisome thing people say is if anyone gets close to the house, they shall never return!
After a long couple of hours unpacking my things, I'm nowhere near done and in a desperate need of a break. I decide to call my close friend, Emma. She always knows where the best parties are and I could use an opportunity to let loose.
''Hey Emma! Where are you?'' I asked.
''HELLO! Isabella, are you there?'' I could hear the fear in her voice and I have known her long enough to tell she had been crying just moments ago.
''What's the matter, Emma? Why are you speaking in such a tone?'' I asked.
''I am stuck in-in that haunted h-house! Help, I-Isabella! Please help me!'' she told promptly.
I got worried, incredibly worried. I have to calm myself, if I'm going to help her. "How did you get there?" No answer came, instead the call was ended.
I have absolutely no idea what to do, but I do know I need to save my friend. I have to go now, or else something even worse could happen to her. I need to find her. I gathered up some courage and ran out of my house.
I have a theory to where she is and I really hope I'm wrong. The road was quite silent as no one dared to go near the house. I was scared, but to help my best friend I had to go.
''Wait!" A voice called out, "young girl, do not step inside this house'' It was an old man.
''Who are you?" I asked him.
"I am the guard of this house. Don't you know this place has been haunted for many years and if you go inside, you may never see the light of day again," he said in a high pitched voice, strange for a man of his age.
I then told him that my friend is locked in this house. The answer which he gave me was shocking, he said "I guard this place every day and every minute of those days. I can tell you as a fact, nobody has entered this place in years."
"I got a call, I heard her voice with my own ears and I know she's in trouble. I have to go in, I have to at least try."
"A call! A call! You young foolish, foolish girl, it must have been a fake call. You mustn't enter if you value your life or your sanity, " He told me.
"It was my friend's voice, I'm sure of it," I told him.
"Then enter, but know this was choice of your own free will. Whatever horrors you face are because of your choice."
I took a step closer to the door. I stood at the very edge of my doom. I closed my eyes and took a step.
Suddenly, a white flash appeared and when I opened my eyes I was meet with the improbable.418Please respect copyright.PENANAcpPjHsVb4w
"Are you okay, Isabella?" Emma asked, worry taking over all of her features.
"Where am I?" I asked her. She then went on to tell me that I was found at the front of my house.
Now I was truly puzzled. The same question floated through my mind repeatedly, was that a dream or was it reality. 418Please respect copyright.PENANAGemQcqgf5V
It wasn't till years later I realized that the old man was right, stepping through that door cost me my sanity. I became obsessed with that one question. So obsessed, I couldn't function. So obsessed, I couldn't live. All that was left of my abilities was to die, so that's what I did.418Please respect copyright.PENANAwCCZHeDtDR
