Background- College Comp, a class I had been looking forward to. All of these are reflections on a topic, question, or story

I was not always a fan of writing; in fact there was a time in which I hated the concept. That all was about to change towards the middle of my fifth grade year, probably one of the better years of my school career. I can safely say that one school writing assignment changed my life for the better.
My career as a writer began during my fifth grade year in 2008 with an assignment, having to write a short fictional story which would later be turned into a physical book. At first I, like any student at that time, had to moan about it, but little did I know that that assignment would actually be a blessing. I had always been a creative child be it with video games, at the time live action role playing which I still use as a creative outlet in online chats or reading simple books.
Unfortunately I decided to save it until the night it was due and complained about when I actually had to start, at first. After about five minutes one sentence turned into a paragraph and another ten later, an entire page; in the course of about an hour I wrote a good twenty pages by hand on rather small paper. It was probably one of the best things I had written at that time, which the class seemed to enjoy when we began to read them to one another. My first book was a children's story called the Cool Cats Club, something I one day intend to revamp and perhaps republish.
This book was about a friendly little war between humanoid cats over one member being bullied out of the club who later met a few dozen friends. They would fight with one another using water guns as their basic weapons to spray each other, a general playful children's story.
About a week after that assignment, I felt bored and decided to try writing again. I did and I managed to keep within the boundary of twenty pages per story; from that moment on I fell in love with writing. As time progressed my Cool Cats Club series turned into an actual war type of story with death and blood, along with some freaky powers. Eventually I grew tired of the story series, finding it to be a little too simplistic and childish for my tastes even though I was writing sixty page books now.
My next series began in seventh grade, a bit of a parody of the series that inspired me which I later called Fighters. It was about cats being divided into clan groups, similar to warriors, although I added my own twists as far as plot and meaning. These books were typically over one hundred pages. I grew bored again about a year later due to being both inspired by anime and wanting to tell an original deep story. I spent nearly a year after that exploring into what I could write next instead of Fighters until in ninth grade.
One year and an estimated one hundred and twenty three failed drafts later I found the series that I wanted. I created an anime theme based series I dubbed Midnight and was just amazed. For one thing, I was writing a book that was over two hundred and sixty pages when completed, but I was able to fully express my opinions in the plot, such as outlooks on reality, politics, whatever I chose to do. I absolutely fell in love with writing Midnight and apparently those who have read it did as well.442Please respect copyright.PENANAl0lEJeXgvu
The experience from writing the first book was quite amazing, not just because it got me to think a lot deeper into the meaning of things but because of the creativity I could pour into it. As stated before, people fell in love with the first book of Midnight, later dubbed Midnight Book 1 Dawn; that alone made me think I was doing something right with my writings, that I wasn't just writing for only the fun of it but for something more.
Only a few days later, I began to plan out the entire series, not stopping until my mind went blank finally. This itself resulted in my potentially over planning with a total of over fifty books potentially in the future but when you love to write it feels right to go overboard. Immediately after the first book was published, people began barking about it getting published, which until around the end of 2011 I tended to ignore due to my lack of care for money.
I did try it and the experience was interesting, but I wouldn't try again in the near future. It's been a little over three months since I canceled my contract with the publisher but I am already enjoying the benefit of having it free to read. My work is currently uploaded on a site called DeviantArt which worked out with many views and a lot of feed back. I also uploaded my smaller projects: my poetry, a few short stories, and the two early series I had saved. I am preparing to place the second book in the Midnight series online like the first.
I enjoy myself when I write because I can be as free and creative as I want, even building a fan base with my work. Music and anime are still inspirational for my work, as they help give me ideas for plot and meaning to put into that work. Writing is more than just a hobby to me at this point, it has become a major pillar in my life to keep me going and I doubt I will ever stop. To me, that assignment in fitfh grade changed my life for these reasons: it has made my life easier, it allows me to express myself, I have ultimately come to enjoy writing more than I ever did, and because I get to entertain people somewhat like the author of a big time series except this is just smaller scale for now.
