"I know. But you suck-" Talyn stopped mid-sentence at the inappropriate comment, catching Iris's warning look- Valerie and Nanook were present, reading beside Iris innocently. "Whatever," she scoffed and held out her hand, wiggling her fingers at him. "Pay up, loser."

He placed 3 strawberry lollipops into her hand and she stuffed two in her pocket, popping the other into her mouth.

He rolled his eyes at the same time Iris did, who sighed heavily and then returned to helping the two girls read the book.
"Yes, good job," Iris said, smiling as Valerie sounded out a long word. The two were reading a book about dragons, and Nanook was completely absorbed in it, her wings curling every now and then. Valerie was also into it, but more in trying to improve her English.
Iris looked up after a few minutes, because the camp had gone awfully silent and Valerie and Nanook were no longer paying attention to the book- and saw Will sitting by himself eating... chapstick. Straight from the tube.
"Will?" Clint asked, raising an eyebrow. His expression changed from crankiness to utter confusion, mixed with slight alarm.
"Hm?" He looked up, oblivious, after taking a straight up bite from red chapstick, chewing on it like it was candy.
"Why..Why are you eating chapstick?" She asked him, giving him a quizzical look. Talyn looked up as well, looking equally weirded out. Valerie looked confused and so did Nanook. Was this something they did here on the Island? Eat lip products?
Will shrugged casually. "Its cherry flavored."
"Will. We have- We have food," Clint told him, just looking utterly lost. "And I'm pretty sure eating chapstick isn't healthy. You can't just..You can't just eat it."
Will shrugged again, defensive now. "Why? It tastes good! And why would it be cherry flavored!?"
Talyn sighed at him, sucking on the lollipop. She took it out, one hand on her hip. " It-Its not meant to be eaten! That night, (the four ended up staying the night at the camp to avoid cleaning the kitchen with Diana and Melanie), Will went to bed early, gripping his stomach, and groaning in pain.
Clint had teased him as he lay curled up in the ground , and ended up earning a sharp boot to the 'area' by Iris, and Iris then made him go to bed early for being rude and teasing Will.
Then she took away Talyn's electronics so she wouldn't research things like "Top 30 places to NEVER go to in Australia" or watch scary videos. Or even Donald Duck singing Kingdom Hearts music. At last, she finally went to bed as well.
"Not too late girls," Carina said, looking over at Nanook and Valerie, who were seated by the fire. She was letting them stay up later because they wanted to read more, and were too restless.
And she trusted them enough.

Valerie sat the book down and hugged Carina too. "Goodnight," she said quickly, her accent thick with her words. But not as thick from when they first found her, like she was trying to hide it.
"Goodnight-" Carina smiled, and then turned to them. "And remember- Don't leave the camp. Okay?"

Soon, the camp was filled with her snores as Nanook and Valerie sat, Nanook humming as a way to try and tune out Carina's snoring.
After a while, Valerie jumped when Nanook spoke suddenly, breaking the silence. "You wanna do something?" She looked over at Valerie, her eyes sparked with mischief.
"Like what?" Valerie asked, her head tilting slightly, her voice hushed. "Not much we can do, we can't wake anyone up. Talyn's actually sleeping for once and I don't think Iris will be too happy if we wake her up."
Nanook flopped back, her arms spread out. "..We could leave the camp," she said, a mischievous glint lighting up her whole face now as she brought up the idea.

"Why would we do that? It's fine here-" she started, but Nanook interrupted her and she fell quiet.
"Just for a little! I wanna see the forest! Don't you?"
Valerie frowned. Oh. Not leaving for sure. "Yeah..I guess.." She did like the forest..Reminded her of home. Valerie could feel a little twist in her stomach- like something wrong would happen, but she didn't want to let down Nanook. Not when she looked at her like that.
Nanook grinned more. "But what else should we do?" She sat back up, her tail wagging slightly. Valerie didn't even try to argue, Nanook wouldn't take no for an answer. Or, she would go herself. Which wasn't a good idea.
Valerie thought, looking around. Then to the drawing on Nanooks lap. A dragon, sitting on a cliff with green flames coming out from it's mouth.

Good. He's not..Hes not mad at me, Zaina thought with relief. Even though she had done nothing, she still worried.
Victor stood up, red eyes emotionless. "Show me."

Zaina could remember how the little pictures crumpled up in the flame, their smiling faces. They were a loving family but now they were..
Gone.
Some of the neighbors wondered where they were. Zaina could hear them as she collected plants outside, posing as their new gardener, trying to make things look normal.
She lied through her teeth and told them that they were simply in vacation at the fair for a few days.
Zaina lead Victor walked into an office space where she worked, and bit her lip, kicking herself mentally when she saw the sight.
It was a disaster, tools and books all over the floor along with papers and ripped up notes and wadded up sheets. Coffee cups littered the floor, as well as energy drinks.
"Sorry for the mess," she mumbled as she hopped over books.

That was almost worse than yelling- That one look of disgust and disappointment. She hated that look.
Zaina was glad he didn't snap at her or anything, but with the look he gave her he might as well have.
Silently and avoiding his eye she picked up a vial. It was a silvery liquid substance, sparking in the yellow lamplight like hollow. Little rainbow bits caught her eye. It looked so pretty, but its purpose was something ugly.
"And it will work?" Victor asked, eyes narrowed, taking the vial our of her hands and looking at is closely.
"Yes, sir. Inject it into a being and they'll feed on humans till dawn, and it will surely spread if the injected person doesn't kill their prey. Which in sure they won't. "
"Good job," he said. "Send out Aza to inject it now. We mustn't wait."
Zaina nodded and she felt her stomach drop as he walked away. She stated after him, eyes wide. He hadn't said-
Victor paused, turning to her. "Oh, right You may rest, now." His footsteps resumed, clicking on the time floor with each step he took.
"Oh, thank you-" Zaina said greatfully, even though he couldn't hear her thankfulness.
She relaxed, and closed her door, before crumpling to the floor and curling up right there, all over the papers and books. She decided that she'd clean up later, when she had the energy.
In minutes, she was sound asleep, finally allowed to sleep for the first time in days.

"Where are we going, Val?" Nanook asked as they walked throughout the forest, a flashlight shining in her hand. "Can I call you Val? And then you can call be Nan. We'll have those nicknames!"
"The park," Valerie said. "No ones gonna be there at night. It'll be perfect." She turned to Nanook and smiled. "And yes, you can call me Val, Nanook."
"Yes! ..But what are we gonna do? At the park?" Nanook asked, her ears perked, looking anxious to know.

Now she wasn't as afraid, but something felt..not right. She tried to shake off the feeling.
"Tell meeeee," Nanook whined, nudging Valerie with her tail. "Pleaseeeee?"
"Nope. It's a..whats the word..a sunrise..?"
"Sunrise is when the sun rises-" Nanook corrected her, raising her arms in a gesture. "I think you mean a surprise. "
"Oh, right..I love..sunrises. " She looked up at the sky. "They're so pretty, the way the sky changes every day."
"Me too," said Nanook, a longing sort of look crossing her face. "My brother and sister and I used to get up early to watch them, before we had breakfast."
Valerie took Nanooks free hand gently, noticing the frown appearing on her face.
Valerie shared her pain, missing her family but perhaps Nanooks pain was greater- Nanook had no way of knowing if they were dead or alive. It had to be torture not knowing. Having to carry on, that question never answered.
But Valerie knew. She had witnessed it.
And she'd never forget it.
Nanook looked up at Valerie and Valerie squeezed her hand and said,
"It's okay. I'll be your family now, Nan."

Cody got up, setting the book down on the small glass coffee table, just as there was a sharp rap on rhe door.
He jumped, surprised. He wasn't expecting anyone- And he didn't have many friends or family here..And the neighborhood was a quiet area.. No girl-scout cookies or anything..
He hesitated, something small in his brain telling him no. No don't open that door.
He went with his gut feeling and stopped, watching the door closely. Another knock.
He didn't move. Just watched the door, eyes narrowed and heart starting to pound.
And suddenly there was silence. Cody relaxed after a few moments, going to turn away-
The door slammed open with a bang.
Cody jumped and spun around, and saw a heavily muscled woman enter the room, her arms bulging, eyes narrowed, a small long box in her hand and a long knife in the other.
"Who-Who are you?" Cody sputtered, staring at her and backing up. I knew it. "Why are you in my house?!"
The woman didn't answer, just simply crossed the room and held out her hand. Cody didn't have it in him to move anymore. He was too scared and shocked. "Give me your arm," she said gruffly, her mouth a straight line.
"Wh-Why?" Cody took a step back. He was so confused. He snapped, "Tell me who you are! Tell me why you're here!"
The woman's eyes narrowed.

He felt glass bite into his skin, looking up to see the woman snarl down at him threateningly, her eyes blazing with the rage of a million suns.
"Don't snap at me," she growled angrily, the hand gripping her knife gripping it tighter, so that the knuckles turned white. "Listen, or you're gonna regret it." She jabbed the knife at him, but it didn't touch him. Cody still flinched, though, tensing. "Now give me your arm!"
Cody's eyes flit to his phone. What's going on? Why is she here? Who is she? What did I do? What's going on? What's in the box?

The woman growled again and went to grab his arm, but Cody grabbed a shard and made a cut down her forearm. She flinched and jerked back with a cry of surprise rather than pain as Cody scrambled up, grabbing his phone, but the woman had grabbed him again and next thing he knew-
he slammed into the bookcase.
Cody fell back on his back, air knocked out of his lungs.
He gasped, and his eyes widened as the bookcase toppled over, directly on his legs. He tried to cry out but had no air in his lungs. All he could do was wheeze and clutch at his chest with one hand.
He gasped for air, reaching for his phone that he had dropped with his other hand. So close- His fingers brushed it-

Cody wheezed loudly again, unable to scream. He looked up at the woman, his eyes wide in terror with sweat running down his face.
She crouched down, keeping her boot planted painfully on his hand, her long black hair hanging down in her face.

He saw her take the box and flick open the lid, revealing a large syringe. Her knife was back in a sheath.
"What is that?" Cody asked, voice dripping with panic. The woman didn't answer, just pulled it out.
Cody saw the shimmering silver liquid drain as she stabbed his arm wig the needle. He struggled and bucked but the woman kept his arm pinned down, ignoring his pleas and questions.
His struggles and cries died down as his vision slowly went black, the woman's face glaring down at him vanishing.

"We're here," Valerie said, walking up to a small park. The playground was empty, and looked eerie at night.
Nanooks tail flicked. "Okay! Show me!" Valerie smiled, turning to her.
"You like dragons, right?" Valerie asked, glancing.
Nanook nodded. "Heck yeah. I'm a dragon-wolf, So-" Nanook gestured to her ears, then at her wings, which were folded. "Can't fly yet, though."
"Really? That's so cool. The wolf and dragon bit. " She sat down at the end of a slide, Nanook standing in front of her.
"Show me! I wanna see!" Nanook begged impatiently, her tail wagging.
"Okay, okay.." Valerie rolled up the sleeve of her jacket, revealing the golden bracelet. She touched it softly, whispering Raz's name. Nanook watched with interest, eyes bulging withe inquisitiveness.
And then, Raz stood before them, blinking confusedly, looking dazed and lost.
Nanook gave a noise of delight, jumping up. "Oh, my!" She went to rush forward-
Raz jumped and turned to her, spreading her wings, hissing at Nanook. Nanook froze, but Valerie was already speaking soothingly to Raz in her native tongue already , and slowly Raz folded her wings, watching Nanook carefully with her beady eyes.
Nanook stared, and Valerie looked up at her. "She's very protective. Her name is Raz. Raz..this is Nanook. My..friend."She spoke to Nanook now. "Try not to be as sudden, okay?"
Nanook looked up and grinned, nodding. Kneeling down as Raz walked forward slowly, head cocked to the side, eyes fixed on Nanook. Nanook could barley contain her excitement, but she tried.
"Hi, Raz," Nanook said cautiously, reaching her hand out. Raz hesitantly rubbed her head on Nanooks hand with a second glance at Valerie, and Nanook gently pet her. Raz leaned into the touch trustingly.
"What do you think?" Valerie asked, her head tilting, watching the two. Every now and then she would look around uneasily, fidgeting with the cuffs of her sleeve.
"I like her.." She looked up, grinning. "I'm jealous. I want a dragon."
"You are part dragon!" Valerie snickered, then tilted her head. "Go play, then. We have to go soon. I don't wanna get caught."

A sharp pain suddenly started in his mouth. So sharp it made him yelp. He pushed the bookshelf off hid legs.
He clamped a hand over his lips and then rushed, staggering, up the stairs to the bathroom. Sharp, slow pain was starting in his gums.
He slammed the door open and flicked on the light, looking in the mirror. He moved his hand away and opened his mouth, and the shock startled him so much.

He gripped the sink, blood falling from his mouth into the white sink.
He was so confused, so scared, his heart pounding in his chest. And then it stopped. His fangs were out, his eyes a sharp and shimmering silver now.
He crumpled to the floor, back against the door of the bathroom. And then there was a sharp pain in his fingers and back.
He cried our a little- Was- Was he healing? He could feel the bones shift in his hands, setting themselves right- It hurt so, so bad. He stuffed his other fist in his mouth, but then took his hand away when he cut himself on his new fangs. No one could see him- Not like- Not like this-
He felt the cut skin on hid back start to piece itself back together, stinging, and he bit back a cry of agony.
He clenched his fists against the pain amd worked on not crying out. In a few minutes, the pain dulled and only an ache was left.
He caught his breath, leaning back against the door. But now, something switched in his mind.
He wanted something. He was craving something..
Blood.
His stomach was punctured with a pain, aching for blood. Cody was confused, scared. Scared of himself. Scared of what he wanted.

He had grabbed his phone before he went upstairs and he flicked it on. Maybe..Maybe he could ask for help? Maybe.
He flicked on the phone, but instead on the lockscreen of a cat cuddling a duck there, there was a white screen with blood red letters.

He had eaten messily, greedily, and now his fangs dropped with her blood.
But Cody didn't even care. No, wanted more.
He needed more.
Cody straightened up, and caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror that hung besides many Photos of hos neighbor and her nieces and nephews. All happy and smiling.
His eyes were silver and wild, the whites bloodshot, dark heavy bags under them. Around his mouth was covered in blood, fresh blood and his hair was disheveled and hung in front of his face messily.
He didn't look human. He was a killer.
Cody turned away, and stepped over his neighbors lifeless and gory body, his shoes squeaking on the cream-colored tile as he walked to the door, and went to go prey on the last four houses next door, the pang for hunger in his body greater than ever.

Five people.
He'd drained the blood of five people, and it wasn't enough. All of them were adults, their blood almost the same taste, salty and metallic.
Cody was now walking along the street, gracefully and swiftly walking, arms at his sides with his fingers curling and uncurling. Blood was stained down his front, and all over his neck.
Cody was aware enough to know that he hadn't killed all of them, only two. The rest may have been turned into a being, just like him- If, the legends were true.
But he was still hungry. He needed more.

Nanook was laying on the grass with Raz by her side, the two looking up at the bright moon, shining down on them.
Nanook was telling Raz all about her family, and Raz seemed to listen while playing and moving around her hair with his beak, careful not to tug at it.
Valerie was nearby, picking at the loose strand on her gloves, also listening to Nanook.
"Yeah, Raz. Every night Alex or Lariba would tell me stories about all sorts of stuff. About princesses who rescued the prince..Princes who made friends with the dragon instead of killing them." Nanook reached out and gently pat his head. "And every full moon Alex would sneak us up onto the roof and we'd look up at the moon. Alex used to tell us that one day he'd get mom out of her cell..And that we would try to be a real family again." Nanooks smile faded, and the gleam in her eyes left. "But..I dunno if that's gonna happen anymore.."
Raz noticed how her mood had shifted and she nuzzled the side of her face with hers. Nanook sat up, gently patting the top of Raz's head.
Raz leaned into the touch, settling her head down in Nanooks lap, wings spread out casually.
"Hey, you two, we leave in a few minutes. It's getting late, and I'm starting to get..cold," Valerie said, looking over, fidgeting with the loose string. She didn't want to tell Nanook that her unease was growing with every second they stayed there.
"Okay," Nanook said, stifling a yawn. She had started to get a little tired as well, her eyes dropping. Raz looked tired as well, her eyes now closed as Nanook gently pet her feathers.
Nanook looked around slowly, her tail curled as she observed the leaves, some already starting the transition into fall. She watched as the breeze shook the leaves, watching one of them slowly fall to the ground.
Nanook looked up, just in time to see a figure walking into the park. He smelled strongly of blood and he was looking down, not having noticed them yet.
Raz and Valerie bad noticed too, and now Raz stood, her eyes narrowed, growling lowlg in her throat.
"Shh." Valerie have Raz a look and she fell silent. Nanook looked up at Valerie as she stood slowly, watching the man closely. "Nanook..Listen to me. Whatever happens, listen to me."
Nanook bit her lip and nodded, looking up at the man. He still hadn't noticed them yet, staring at the floor with his hands at his sides.
"We're gonna try and leave, okay? Raz, whatever happens go get the boy with the black hair and blue eyes. Clint," she told Raz under her breath. Raz made a small noise, and Valerie knew she understood.
Valerie took one of Nanooks hands gently, beginning to lead her back towards the exit, her eyes fixed on the bloody man.
Nanook felt her stomach twist as she backed up slowly, her wings folded and her ears pinned flat against her head. Her heart was pounding so loud she was afraid the man would hear it and-
She stepped on a twig and it snapped loudly.
The man's head snapped up, his eyes wide, as she spun to face them. He bared his fangs at them and Nanook stood frozen as the man started towards them.
Valerie picked up a thick fallen tree branch and threw it at him, and he fell back with a cry and hiss. Raz had already taken off, bounding back towards the camp.
"Go!" Valerie hissed. She said something in her own language too but Nanook couldn't comprehend it. She could just feel fear as she was frozen in place, her eyes wide. "Go!" Valerie said in english, staring at her with wide eyes. "Go follow Raz!" She cried, pointing after the little dragon flying out at the camp.
Nanook was shaken out of her stupor when the man was starting to get back up, a hand on his head, his newly grown claws scratching his forehead lightly. "What about you?" Nanook asked, her voice shaking.
"Don't worry about me, just follow Raz!" Valerie turned to the man, her swords appearing in her hands.
Nanook then turned on her heel and ran, glancing back to see Valerie narrowly dodge the mans attack. Nanook's feet pounded against the road as she ran, her wings spreading. She did not fly, for she had not learned how to yet, but she did use them to propel her forward and make great bounds and leaps.
Her hair flew behind her, the wind snapping her jacket and bringing tears into her eyes. She glanced up, keeping track of Raz and pushing herself to run faster, to follow Raz because she didn't know the island well enough to know her way back to the camp.
Raz landed in the camp, shrieking, and as Nanook came up, gasping and panting. The others had already been woken up. Iris and Carina were the most alert, Iris's whip in her hand and her brow furrowed as she rushed forward with Carina to Nanook, but stopped when Raz snapped at them, hissing at their ankles. But when he saw Clint he backed off.
"What happened?" Iris asked quickly, everyone else looking alarmed and confused. "Why were you out at night? Wheres Valerie?"
"She's- She's back at the park," Nanook gasped, her eyes wide. "The one Carina b-brought us to- And there was this-this man and he was gonna attack us-" Her voice was small and shaky, as she explained everything as best as she could without spiralling into a panic.
Iris was snapped to attention in a second. She was still in her nightdress and barefoot, but she didn't have time to change. "Clint and I will go to the park. The rest of you stay here and watch after Nanook."
"But-" Carina started, looking concerned. "Its dangerous-"
"Its what I do," Iris said. "We'll both be fine. Just stay."
Clint grabbed his sword, dressed in his own pajamas; A grey shirt and long red pants, his hair spiked up in every direction, but now he too looked alert and rather deadly rather than silly.
The two ran out of the camp quickly, weapons in hand. Nanook watched them go, clenching her fists, ears pinned back flag against her head and her tail tucked.
Talyn and the others came over to her. Nanook looked up at Will and she rushed over to him when he knelt down, hugging his neck. He hugged her back.
"Hey, it's okay. They're gonna go help Valerie. Its fine." He tried to calm her down, looking down and chewing on his lip.

Nanooks blue eyes met Carina's turquoise ones, the color of the ocean, her white eyelashes casting shadows down on her face.
"You did really well. You ran all the way here, in the cold, to get help. Good job," Will said, smiling a little, but he still looked a little concerned. "I'm proud, but not so proud that you ran off-"
Nanook mumbled and dropped her gaze. "I'm sorry.."
"Its okay. It happens. I use to run off all the time too. I still do," Will said, smiling a little. "We all do."
"Good job coming here, like Will said, Nan." Carina smiled a little, despite the worry in her eyes. "It's gonna be fine. But that doesn't mean you're not getting a huge lecture once Valerie's back."

Clint ran beside her, trying his best to keep up with her long strides. Iris bad always been great at running, because of her long legs.
The park came into view, and Iris ran faster, seeing a small figure duck and Dodge around the playset and swings, twi blades flashing as she moved around swiftly, unable to get a hit. The man snarled and lunged himself at her with surprising agility, his long, sharp claws glinting in the moonlight like Valerie's blades.
The man was up one of the poles on the playground, and Valerie was cornered, eyes wide in fear, she held her swords out in front of her, legs shaking.
"Get away!" Iris shouted, running faster, her legs burning and the stitch in her side more prominent.
"Stop! Get out of here you-" Clint let out a long stream of very insulting curse words, his face red ina fit of rage.
But the man did not stop. He lunged forward, and Valerie shrieked and fell back, the man biting between her neck and shoulder.
Valerie shrieked, letting go of her swords and flailing. But it was useless, the man wasn't budging.
Iris bounded up finally and whipped her whip at him, making a large deep gash across his back. At first it glowed purple, then it flashed and turned into blood.
The man let go and screamed in pain, and Clint came over and slammed a boot into his ribs so he rolled off and Clint had time to pull Valerie away.
"Get her away!" Iris barked at him, brandishing her whip, getting ready to strike the man before her- He scrambled to his feet, and his skin was stitching itself back together where Iris had slashed, healing himself.
Iris panicked. She didn't know how to kill this guy, she'd never met anything like him-
The man lunged at her and Iris threw herself to the side, directly onto the slide. She rolled and tumbled down, her whip landing on the ground a few feet away.
"Iris!" Clint cried, looking up at her. He was holding Valerie to him, trying to stem the bloodflow from the bite.
The man lunged at her, shrieking and Iris rolled to the side, scooping up her whip. He lunged at her again, swiping his claws and Iris slashed at him, making another gash across his chest.
The force knocked him back, but he was up in seconds, trying to land a hit. But she was slashing, barely even knowing what she was hitting. In her frenzy she slashed off branches, making the leaves rain around them, but most of her hits landed on the man.

Now he wasn't so focused on attacking, now he was focused on dodging. At last, the man finally gave a cry as the sun shined down on them, and he scrambled back, looking dazed.
Iris paused, staring at the man, Blood all over her. But she didn't care. She stared at him, eyes wide, breathing heavily. The man now looked dazed, confused and panicked. he stared at the blood, his eyes flashing.
Then, he turned and ran as fast as he could, fleeing away.

Cody gasped and clung to a wall in an alley, staring at his blistering, sunburned hands. The skin was blistering pink, and also covered in dry crimson blood. His own blood.
All his clothes, hair and body was covered in his own dry blood, the wounds he had now turned from deep gashes to pink scars, fading away on his skin. The healing process had hurt so bad, he writhed on the floor, and his hand had accidentally slipped out into sun, and it had burned him badly immediately.
He recalled the night. He had killed people..bitten them.. He knewthag the ones he had bitten would soon turn into someone like him. A monster.
A Vampire.
Cody remembered asking his grandma once if vampires existed. She had told him that no, they didn't. They were merely a tale, a myth. She told him about them.
Now, vampires weren't no myth.
Whoever that woman was, whoever had broken into his house, had created a vampire.
Cody slowly slid down the wall, reliving the memories from the night before. Killing and feeding, the blood, two girls at the park, some girl slashing at him with her whip repeatedly. As soon as the sun had risen, he had come back to his senses, and he fled.
Cody rubbed his face, shaking. He had to leave. That girl was gonna find him again, he was sure of it.
Cody had to run, to hide- Hide from these people- Get far away from this town before they killed him..

Back at the camp, Carina was treating Valerie's cuts and the bite, staring at her. Valerie was now under close watch, the bite cleaned and bandaged. Everyone else, except for Nanook who had refused to say anything else and lied curled up in the tent, was having a meeting on the situation.
"What did he look like?" Melanie asked, her journal open in her lap, pen in hand, ready to write.
Iris looked up. "He had dark hair..And his eyes were a bright silver..He had a row of sharp teeth, covered in blood. He looked..insane. Hungry, even. He even had these sharp claws and when I slashed him, the wounds would start to..stitch itself back together. It-It would heal."
"We've never met creatures like that," Talyn said, staring at the floor deeply. "They haven't been able to heal. Not even the werewolves can heal."
"And right when the run rose, he took off?" Diana asked, her arms folded stiffly, her eyes narrowed.
Iris nodded. "He fled. Like..He had snapped out of some psycho phase." She sighed.
"No..Thats not right," Melanie muttered under her breath, her brow furrowing as she chewed on her pen, thinking hard.
"What?" Clint asked, eyes flitting up to her. "Whats not right?"
"All of the descriptions match Vampires. But they're only a myth. A tale. Made up." Melanie frowned. "It just isn't possible."
"Anything's possible," Will said, trying to lighten the mood a little. "You said it was impossible for me to eat 4 jumbo burritos in one sitting, but oh it was possible."
Melanie scoffed. His attempt didn't work and he frowned. Melanie always laughed at his jokes. He realized this was something serious. The start of something huge. "Whatever." She closed the book. "Iris, what do you think we should do?"
Iris looked startled at being adressed, staring at her. She frowned. "I think we should keep a close eye on it. Wait a couple days, and keep watch on Valerie for anything. Cause Vampire's turn people when bitten- if they don't die- so let's just wait."
