Aiden
After the movie was over, I pull out my phone to check the time. She still had about an hour before she had to go back to the water.
I look down at her beautiful figure. She was absolutely the most perfect girl I've ever seen.
The excitement on her face when she does new things is amazing. She has the most beautiful smile. I'd happily show her the world if she didn't have to be back in the water by dawn.
I don't know why I'm so drawn to her. Ever since the other night, I've had her on my mind and after tonight, I want to hang out with her every night.
After fifteen minutes of playing with her hair, I finally sit up, causing Bambina to open her eyes and look around. Her eyes widen in panick before they land on me.
"Aiden, what time is it? I can't believe I fell asleep!"
She scoots to the door and presses the button to open the door. I follow behind her and shut the door before locking it.
"Bambi, relax. You still have time." I tell her, grabbing her forearm to calm her down.
She does as I say and I move my hand down to hers, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"I'll be right back then we can head to the beach." I say before jogging inside to put my moms keys back where I found them.
When I came back out, Bambi was still standing in my driveway. She looked nervous and awkward. I smile as I walk up to her, throwing my arm around her shoulder. She smiles back as we start walking toward the beach.
I already can't wait until tonight.
Bambina
After Aiden left, I finally take a look at the chain I've had with me all night. I've been dying to take a look. The chain held a heartshaped pendent. I quickly clean the pendent to reveal the engraved word printed on it.
Gallegar.
My eyes widen slightly in shock as I read my last name on this random item I found in the ocean. I turn the pendent around and read the words engraved on the back.

I smile as I run my fingers around the heart. I stop when I feel a little button and quickly press it. The heart pops on and I open it the rest of the way.
"It's a locker?" I whisper to myself.
I look down at the pictures on each side. On the right side was a woman with blonde curly hair and ocean blue eyes. On the left side, was a man with Dark brown hair and sea green eyes. The thing is, I remember them.
I haven't seen them in seven years. But, I'm going to find them eventually. The people in the locket?
My parents.
I snap the necklace around my neck, and dive into the water.
Time to waste time. Maybe I'll play with the sharks today. I smile at the thought. Sharks are scary creatures, sure, but most of the time, they don't bother you unless you bother them. Although, sometimes, they attack randomly.
Ugh! I dunno. Maybe, I should just swim around like I did...
"Oof!"
While I was debating on what to do, I had totally spaced out and wasn't watching where I was going. I shake away the shock of running into something, and look up into beautiful brown eyes.
My mouth parts in confusion and I look around just in case my eyes were playing tricks on me.
"I haven't seen you before." The merman says as he swims around me.
I follow him with my eyes and without realizing it, I reach out and touch him. He's real. He chuckles and I snatch my hand back. I really can't believe I did that.
"What's your name, princess?" He asks me.
"Bambina." I tell him softly.
He nods as he holds out his hand. "Nice to meet you, Princess. I'm Aquarius."
"Princess?" I giggle. "I'm no princess. I'm just Bambina."
He chuckles. "I know you're not THE princess but, your just as beautiful as one."
Is it weird that I want to scream in excitement? Just this morning, I thought there were no other merpeople and here I am speaking to a merman!
I wonder if he's also cursed!
"Come on." He says as he grabs my hand.
He pulls me along side of him, deeper into the water. He stops when we get to a little underwater town.
Shocked, I stop and look around. The place was beautiful. How have I never seen this before?
Probably because you stay close to the shore!
"Aquarius!" We both look over to the voice that called out his name.
Oh, my god! It's another mermaid.
She looks me over before looking back at Aquarius with confusion written all over her face.
"Who is this? I've never seen her before." She asks him as she swims around me to get a good look.
"Aqua, this is Bambina." He tells her with a smile. "Bambina, my sister, Aqua."
She smiles over at me and reaches out her hand. I take it, only hesitating for a second.
"So, are you a lost mermaid or something?" Aqua asks me curiously.
I shrug. "Something like that."
She nods before looking around. "Come on! We'll show you around!"
I smile before following her, Aquarius behind me. This is so exciting!
