劇情大要：

　　「我們從不道知曉事情是如何開始。

　　會怎樣發展，決定權也從不在我們手上。

　　可是，要怎樣收結，不就全取決於我們的一念之間嗎？」

　　在八年前的恐怖襲擊中失去至親的工匠學徒克雷恩，在初冬的某個晚上忽然被素不相識的失明女畫家卡特娜登門造訪，希望能請他幫忙回收她的老師──也就是他已故的父親──留在宅邸裏的畫作。對於要踏足離開已久的故居，克雷恩起初萬分抗拒，最後還是敗給了少女的恆心，和她一起踏上返家的歸途，卻在大宅裏遇到完全超乎常理的怪事……克雷恩在這不可理喻的情形下，被迫面對他與家族之間的心結，而神色有異的卡特娜，又是否懷有什麼目的……？

　　完全修整文句、重新編排大部份情節的新版本，同時新附三個續篇小故事「於是，冬季遠去……」、「再見心靈之窗」和「某位女孩的手記」。
