「離開就等於背叛，這是亙古時期就留下的規矩，一代一代傳下來的。」瘦弱的長老說，「沒想到啊……」

「但長老你怎麼在這？」我問。

「說來話長啊……」長老嘆了口氣，「都是我那不孝子……把我抓來這裡，每天只給我一點麵包……」

「你被關幾天了啊？」克堤問。

「我啊……可能三天有了吧……」

「但為什麼要把你抓來這......」我不明白，明明他都可以順理成章成為下一任長老，為什麼還要如此大費周章？

「明天是殺戮祭，我兒子想把我殺了。」長老嘆了一口氣，「因為我原本像讓奇斯做長老，而不是世襲。」

難怪長老的兒子會不爽。

「幫我逃出去吧，不然村子會被我那不肖子毀了。」長老難得低下頭拜託人。

我和克堤互看對方一眼，「嗯，我們幫你。」

「但有條件。」
