西元二零零七年，台灣業餘圍棋界掀起了一陣腥風血雨。

神秘的暗黑本因坊，精心布下一連串的計策，找出了傳說中九本真經的其中八本，並藉由八本真經的會合，解開了真經中長達數千年的封印，意圖使三條棋界頂峰的魂魄脫離真經束縛，再透過融合之術吸收，達到舉世無雙的境界。

然而，在正道的努力反擊以及兩名神秘人士的佈局之下，融合之術功虧一簣，暗黑本因坊在融合過程中遭受重創，三條棋魂脫離束縛之後，分別飛向三方找尋寄身之所，而八本真經中的智珠也各自飛散失去蹤影。

隨後，三名稱不上名動天下、又道路各異的舊時好友，便在這越加紛亂的時局中，追尋著三道棋魂的軌跡，逐漸描繪出台灣業餘圍棋界新時代的草圖。
