I wrote this short story two years ago for an assignment in my college English class. This is one of the first short stories I have written.

At the time, I was playing fantasy video games and reading George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, series, so when I got this assignment, I thought, "Hey, I'll just write a fantasy story or something."

It is a fantasy inspired by medieval Europe. There are some aspects of feudalism I guess you could say, concerning the setting. I'm not sure if this has to be said, but of course, it may not be exactly accurate to real life history, but it is a fantasy world made by my imagination, so inspired is the big word here.

The story follows a knight who is caught between doing what is right and what his loyalty compels him to do.
