Normally, that would be absolutely horrifying for me. But, it's really not. It just means I'm learning something a little more than I did before. It also means that I'm trying to improve things that I didn't see at the time of writing it!
I always wondered, if there were an opportunity to publish, would I do the same thing? Would I ever go back and read what I had written, and tell myself "I definitely shouldn't have written that."
I'm okay with going back and changing things, as long as it means as I'm improving. Sometimes I leave things in my story that I know doesn't sound quite right, but I take my time to come back with fresh eyes and see if maybe future me can establish some sort of solution for what I had lacked before. 467Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡJDi8ijJuEl
Sometimes, like it has this week, I've been able to do that! Sometimes, like my first chapter (which I recently edited AGAIN) it takes years.
And look, I'm no professional writer! I'm still learning how to make words flourish without having them sound so technical. What age has taught me (cause ya girl's old), is just be present and do the best you can, right now.
Like I said in my previous post, I'm a full-blown research paper writer! I completed a research project recently that took over a year to complete. It was full-blown Lit. review, APA format, multi-component study that I did - it was pretty insane. But I love everything about writing, and even if it makes my writing stale right now, I can definitely see, compared to where I was before that I am doing a lot better.
Cringe worthy at best, currently, but I have potential.
So don't give up my friends! If I can see some sort of improvement, so can you! Even if you're not 100% there you will be!
