"I still remember the day I first found a coke can on our way to headquarters. we were out on a search to find someone that sent out a distress call.
It was 14:00 when we entered an old city covered with vegetation over the years. Tier 1 command deployed us to different coordinates. My platoon went up north towards the buildings that may be a good height for AR support, but we had to scan the area for hostiles. There was really nothing much to expect other than large ants and other enormous insects that may be a nuisance to this mission.
My platoon was on a balcony and was on high alert ready for team support when the other platoons needed assistance, when all of a sudden we hear an explosion behind our building.
A small group of people were found dead just when we arrived to the place where the explosion happened. Together with the casualties, we found a corpse of a Rustler, a small Incubus, or you could also call it a scout. We thought there were no survivors on who sent the distress call, but then I saw someone.
A girl with pristine white hair, ocean colored eyes, tantalizing skin and radiant peachy lips.
She was all alone below a fallen building holding a connector that was made from scratch.
"Don't come near me!", she said pointing a rifle at me. She dropped her rifle knowing that I wasn't a Rustler. She kept crying and crying, kneeling on the ground holding my legs. I could tell that she was the only survivor of the group of people that died. I carried her as she fell asleep, probably because of fatigue.
"Get Down!", I heard as a car flew towards our direction,"Five Rustlers detected bearing West!", they added as we fired shots. I hid behind the ruble assuring the safety of the girl I was carrying. I took my rifle and the girl woke and held my leg. Something happened to me as I felt strangely lighter and stronger.
"Fight and Live.", the girl said as she collapsed again.
My vision changed, I saw strange colors emitting from the bodies of the Rustlers. I saw their hearts, it was in their abdomen.
"Aim for the abdomen!", I said as the whole squad looked at me confused,"Just do it!", I added.
Shots were fired but their outer shells were too hard to penetrate with our rifles. The Rustlers were getting closer to our location, I had to do something.
My heartbeat went faster and my mind went blank. Pitch black plasma rays surrounded me. I felt so strong as everyone around me slowed down. I stood up and saw everything in a slow movement. I immediately went in to kill the Rustlers. It happened in a flash as the Rustlers fell down, dead. I was in total shock and fear on what happened and on what I did. My tears turned red and my body felt so hot. I fainted on the spot.
I woke up on the AV, distorted. My mind was bouncing all around. This was the worst hangover i ever had. The girl we took was near me. She asked if I was doing fine.
" What did you do to me?!", I asked hastily,"How did I do that?!", I added.
" I did nothing strange, I merely gave you what you always wanted.", she said while smiling innocently.
" What I want?", I asked confusedly," First, what exactly do I want? And second, we just met!", I added.
"The power to escape this reality, the power to find the truth, to learn who you are.", she said. I looked at her with the face of disdain. Something about what she said left me in confusion.
We arrived at the Sanctuary. This was a place where humans can live freely and survive. Currently 6 Sanctuaries still stand. High-ends like me pledged to provide the sanctuary safety and protection even if it costs us our lives. Being a High-end human gives someone a particular level of ability, therefore, we are all distributed equally by means of a system. We are divided into groups we call the Pentaform.

High-ends are categorized in five different levels. Tier 5, The Apollo. Although they are the weakest of the 5 tiers, they excel in medicine and agriculture. Tier 4 High-ends are called The Hephaestus. They excel in weapon making and designing tech and architecture. Tier 3, The Aeolus. High-ends that specializes in protecting the skies and water, mainly because the remaining Sanctuaries are station in the hydrosphere and in the atmosphere. Tier 2 are the Egeria, A.K.A The Geniuses. They provide all the tiers Wisdom and Intel, especially in HQ. Lastly, Tier 1, The Ares and Athena.This Tier houses all of the skills needed for modern warfare and is the Elite member of all the High-ends. The Ares ops specialize in destructive power and physical offense whilst The Athena ops specialize in military strategy and intelligence.

We were welcomed by the Egerias in HQ. I was taken to the infirmary for medication. Ever since arrival, the girl followed me to the infirmary, which was kind of getting annoying. Sofia Cooper, a friend of mine who was part of the Egeria tier, tested my body for abnormalities.
It was then when she found something peculiar in my anatomy scan. A case they never saw before.
