Dear Journal:
Well, my friend visited again. I know, I know, I keep talking about him like he's some sort of superhero. Well, I might've mentioned this before, but he is one- to me, at least. Whenever he's around, nobody sees him but me; when I try and talk to him, my mom and dad give me these weird looks. When they ask what I'm doing, I say I'm talking to him. They usually just shrug, and drop the subject- which is good for me, I guess...I wouldn't want them to say I couldn't see him anymore. He's really helpful too- he's always around when I'm scared, or if I'm feeling lonely...there was this one time where...oh, wait...I already told you about that- I guess you don't really want to hear that again, huh? His (my friend) name is Benjamin, but he let's me call him Benny! Isn't that great? We're real good friends- he always cheers me up, even if it's something small, like when I scraped my knee last week. You know what else? Kids at school think I'm weird because I talk to Benny a lot- they give me looks, just like my parents do, and then they tease me about it! That's the worst, I hate it when they insult Benny...mostly because they laugh whenever I try to defend him.
