Twas the Night Before Baconmas

Twas the night before Baconmas, and all through the house,

the only creatures stirring was the pig and the mouse.

The frying pan sat on the stove with care

in hope that fresh bacon would soon be there

The children were nestled snug in their beds

while sweet dreams of bacon danced in their heads

Mama in her 'kerchief and I in my cap

had just settled down for a post-breakfast nap

when down the the kitchen arose such a clatter

I sprung from my bed to see what was the matter

Down the stairs, I went like the Flash

fearful someone had discovered my secret snack stash

What I saw, made me quickly stop

it was none other than Mr. Pork Chop

he avoided the chimney, for he would get stuck

but a ladder was near, so he was in luck.

Down that ladder he carefully came

until it broke and he landed with an oink and a bang

A ton of bacon he held in his sack

and when I looked at him i wanted a rib rack

He placed the bacon in the pan with care,

making sure there was more than enough for us all to share

then up the ladder he started to go

but Mr. Pork Chop he was too slow

"Thank you," I said, as we ate our fill.

Mr. Pork Chops made a great Baconmas meal.
