Before you read this can I just say that this was freaking hard to write. I mean I had an idea of what I wanted and so I wrote that down, but it didn't feel quite right, so I tried again and this is what I got. And yeah, I've got a quick cheat below of what's going on, kind of... Not really it's supposed to be kind of eerie, an echo of what's going on in my head. In a world that's disjointed from our own... yet just as real.
It's a what if kind of thing... yet at the same time... I have to say that I had fun writing it, a lot of fun. SO without further ado;

Setting: Dená: Akuma, in the small village of Halré
I have to say, by this point in my life, I hate waking up. Opening my eyes the only thing that I can see is green, green cloth to be precise it's tied around my head and obscuring my vision, well mostly. Even though I really want to remove it there is a niggling feeling that doing so would be extremely bad for my health, so I leave the cloth where it is and focus on my other sentence. As if waking pretty much blind wasn't bad enough my feet hurt, I was standing on hard and rough ground. I could feel the stones digging in and the expanding pool of sticky blood that leaked slowly from my feet.
Not that it really hurts that much, instead it's the waves of nothing but chaos that reaches my ears. I hear screaming, shouting, gunfire, explosions, barely any definition is between them all. I shake my head and stumble backwards, have I woken up in a war zone or something. It's when my back hits a chalky kind of texture that I realise, I seem to be in some sort of building. Searching around with my hands I find them getting cut on the broken glass of what I guess might have been a window. Although it could've been a mirror, as I can't feel any breeze in here.
So it must have been a mirror, I back away from the broken glass and keeping my hands against the chalky wall I guide myself around the room until I find the door. Twisting the handle I manage to open it, outwards. Instantly I'm splattered with something, I don't even know what it is. The sounds are much louder now though, and I can definitely feel a breeze. Feeling around though finds broken wood that might have been from the roof. I sigh and slowly scramble over the obstruction and bump into someone. They babble in some foreign tongue and I tilt my head.
My arm is grabbed and I find myself running alongside the unknown person as an explosion follows us. I then have a weapon shoved into my arms. I tilt my head and motion at the cloth covering my eyes. They babble again in that language of theirs before I hear footsteps and they're gone. I sigh and run my hands slowly over the length of the weapon, it feels similar to a gun, at least in shape. I just know that if I try to use it that I'll likely shoot myself in the foot, at least, that's if it is a gun. Baring my teeth into what I guess would be a fanged grin if anyone saw me I manage to swing the weapon around and over my shoulder.
At least I would look intimidating. I push my hands outwards and stretch, it looks like I've been drafted into a war. Why this is even happening though confuses me. If I could understand the babble around me then maybe I would be a bit more comfortable with my situation. Yet, there is a certain thrill to having a gun strapped to my back and running blind. Even with the symphony of chaos around me, I have my feet set solidly on the ground, bare they may be but I'm more sure-footed than I've ever been back home.
Green may fill my vision but my other senses are open to the world around me. Dust hangs loosely in the air clinging to my skin and clothing. I can smell blood, sweat and the horrible burning smoke. I'm grinning in the midst of all this chaos, maybe I should be running, but I'm curious. I want to know what's going on, why everyone is fighting, is there a purpose to this war? People are screaming again and I can feel a burning in my chest, and itchiness in my eyes. Tear Gas, it has to be. My grin expands and I begin to walk forwards, one hand out from my side and parallel to the ground.
“Halin! Halin!” shouts go up around me and I smirk again, I haven't got a clue what they're reacting to, but it seems to be me. Whatever the reason for their reaction is, I think that it's time that this war ended. “Halin!” echoes once more before everything falls into silence. Slowly, slowly I smirk and one hand raises to push the cloth up from over my eyes. I can actually hear their fear as I do this and when it's finally no longer over my eyes I open them.
