Monica's POV
James and I finished gym class and I was extremely weak. James looked simply fine to me. I pardoned myself and went to the water cooler. I drank a gallon of water and went back to James, holding my full stomach. We both said our farewells for the time being since we had to change back from our gym clothes, and I had really needed to freshen up. I went into a bathroom stall since I didn't really like going in the shower room with all the other girls. Ugh, things go on in there that I don't need to know. I hurriedly changed my clothes, waiting for the bell to ring to get to the cafeteria. When the lunch bell rang, the school was like a rhino rampage. Boys pushing and shoving, girls crawling on the floor, well, the hungry ones. The geeks would just protect themselves in a classroom until the stampede was over, and then went to lunch. Sometimes, even the teachers were really hungry and joined the stampede as well. The principal would not approve of this, but she doesn't say anything, knowing that almost everyone would be getting punishment afterwards. The bell rang, and I was waiting to hear the footsteps of the 1001 students of the school, followed by 40 teachers. Apparently, after waiting a good 10 minute, it seemed as if no one was going for lunch. I took this as an advantage to get my lunch first. I walked slowly to the cafeteria, listening to my footsteps echo in the halls. I opened the cafeteria doors, seeing everyone already seated and looking at me awkwardly as I went to order my food. Everyone I passed groaned miserably as murmuring filled the room. Even the canteen lady was angry. What was going on? I ordered my hamburger and fries with Pepsi and waited patiently. I avoided turning around, feeling all the narrowed eyes piercing my back. I got my food and quickly walked to my usual bench. All my friends greeted me with a smile. We talked about our miserable teachers, ignoring all the angry students looking at me. I wanted to ask my friends if they knew why everyone was looking at me strangely, but I don't think they knew either.
Suddenly, Katie, the nerd of my friend group, got a text message. Every one of my friends gathered around Katie and gasped shockingly. They all started talking at the same time confused:
Katie: "She wouldn't do that..." Caleb: "What the heck?" Melody: "When did that happen?" Jason: " No way!"
I looked at them awkwardly as they argued... well debated over the text message. "Guys..." I demanded, "show me the message." They looked all looked at each other silently as if reading each other's mind. "What text message?" James said, arriving unexpectedly, sitting beside me. Katie handed over the phone as James and I looked at the message. The number wasn't saved into her phone, so that meant it was an unknown number. The text had shocked me as it had said in pretty handwriting:
Your friend Monica Blake is a traitor to her own best friend, Kiana West. Monica swapped her Frappuccino with Vodka and made Kiana drunk. Then, she forced her best friend to go home which resulted in the accident. I don't think you should trust Monica anymore. - Anonymous
James gritted his teeth angrily while I wish I could just smash Katie's phone in the wall. "I guess this explains why everyone is looking at you so awkwardly..." Melody said sadly. James deleted the message and gave Katie her phone back. Most of the eyes stopped looking at me, and went back to their daily business, while others glanced every now and then. I slurped up the last of my Pepsi thinking about who Anonymous could be. The bell rang as I ate the last of my fries. "At least you won't be alone in Math," Melody said happily, "Jason and James will be there." I thought for a while knowing that that was true. I walked with the boys to Room #363, sighing at the thought of miserable Mr. Campbell. We walked into the classroom with more eyes looking at me. The class went really fast because it seemed as if Mr. Campbell had found out about the rumour. He looked at me sternly and just asked me a bunch of algebraic questions and gladly, I answered them all correctly. The class ended and once again, Mr. Campbell called me back along with James. There wasn't any immature 'Oooouuu's anymore and Mr. Campbell didn't even wait until everyone got out of the room. " I'll just be very straight-forward. Kiana sent a message saying that she wouldn't want you to miss prom, so I should get you a tutor." Mr. Campbell called Kiana's name really absolute from the rest of the sentence. "James is your tutor." Mr. Campbell said plainly. I was as shocked as James was when I saw his face. Y'all would think that I would be super glad to be tutored, but no siree! I think that tutors have no patience whatsoever and always try to cram everything in your head in a few hours or so. Again, I couldn't complain about anything, knowing that I might get in trouble. I nodded in agreement and left class. I had 2 free sessions but decided to stay in the gamer club room away from all the drama.
Little did I know that gamers come along when Free Period starts. About 20 boys and 5 girls came in and looked at me awkwardly. They all looked like freshmen, so I didn't think they knew about Anonymous. "Hey, guys..." I said, feeling awfully weird. "I just came to watch you play since I heard that gamers are really good in our school." I wasn't a good liar, so I was surprised they actually believed me. They played Minecraft for a while, then Dead Trigger, then Roblox. It seemed as if their gaming choices were endless. As soon as they were about to pick another game, the bell rang. I thanked them for letting me watch as we all left the room. I needed to get to my locker to get my books for my tutor session, but that would cause me having to pass the most annoying people of all. Kiana's bullies. Well...former bullies. When we in elementary school, Kiana had these bullies picking on her. I don't know their names or who they are, but all I know is that I beat them up and told them to leave them. Apparently, they were wimps at the time, so they didn't do anything. Time had passed, but I don't think they forgot. I gulped and prayed that they wouldn't notice me.
I walked swiftly, hoping that I would be fast enough for them not to see me. Unfortunately, they did see me. One of the guys grabbed the neck back of my top and drew me back. "Hey Jake, remember Little Miss Brave girl?" one of the guys said to a tall, muscular guy. Jake replied with a smirk, "I could never forget Monica..." I gulped nervously.
