-Dark’s P.O.V-
”Dark..? Love are you okay?” I listen to my sweetheart’s voice echo through my mind, it’s soft, worried. I raise my head from where I was looking, facing him with a faint, smile. “You’re cute sweetheart, I’m fine don’t worry.” To be honest, I was concerned on whether our plan would’ve worked once I got the message that Len had paid a little visit to Laito—I was out with Azusa at the library where many others could confirm—. The plan was that we’d argue in public, and Kanato would be around the area, in case Len happened to drop by, and so and so forth.Don't think twice
”Great. So he tried to kill Dark! So now what?!” Light. She’s still pretty shaken I guess, we all are, we didn’t know what could’ve really happened and we just got the news that Mino got suspended. I look around the room, we’re in Kanato and Laito’s dorm, ours isn’t the safest anymore.
My eyes land back on Light.
“Do you still have that sheet of paper?” I indicate which with my fingers and she nods, scrambling for a crumpled sheet of notebook paper that wedged itself between her books. “Here.” She said, handing it over to me. Just don't think twice
I recall everything for a moment before scribbling down every name of every victim. Crossed. Dead. Suspended. Out of all the names we had left, only one person really matched the description of closest to Light…”Sherine.” I looked back at them and we all felt the waves of daunting brood crash over us.
The next day I got up early. Light had swimming practice along with Kanato, but I needed to see Sherine before it was too late. Scribbling her a note I rushed out to my first period. “Sherine!” I watched as she spun around, looking frantic. Oh God I hope it’s not what I think it is...”A-Are you ok–?” “I JUST GOT FORCED INTO THE PRAEPOSTER GANG! NO I AM NOT OKAY!” Oh. That’s how he wants to play it? “Oh god. Is there any other way to get out??” My frown deepened as she shook her head in an angry sorrow. Make a choice, one you won't regret
”THIS IS RIDICULOUS!” I nod and we both head into our lecture hall, starting the lesson.
Later that day, I headed over to our dorm. “Light, you in?” She hummed an affirmative and I followed the sound to our room. “What’s up?” She asked as nonchalant as she could be with all this chaos happening. “Sherine’s in the praeposters.” Her eyes widened and the hand on question papers froze, “You’re not serious. You think this is because of Len?!” I lean on the door-frame, nodding at her, “Yep.” I agreed, popping the ‘p’ for good measure. She sighed and rubbed a hand on her face, “Well..he did murder and attempt-to-murder so I don’t wanna argue on the fact.” This is your life,
There was nothing Light and I could do. Sherine was in the praeposters and soon work piled over one another like sand dunes in the Sahara Desert: endless. As a result I couldn’t talk to her much–she was always rushing about here and there– and Light couldn't even catch a glimpse of her down the hallways. I sighed, crossing off her name.
That only left me.

”Light. I’m most definitely the last person.” I insisted, watching as her resolve slowly crumbled down into debris. “Dark I know. But you can’t die.” Her voice was full of emotion, which was surprising at first but I guess since you have your childhood bestfriend’s Life on the line, it makes sense. “I have another idea but I don’t know how well it will work.” She nodded as a sign to go ahead. I began to tell her about the plan; I wanted us to fight, not just a small argument, an actual fight.
Only a few people would know the truth; Kanato, Laito and Angel. “Wait, why Angel?” “Because he’s part of the Praeposters too. If anything so happens to go wrong, he can be on standby and tell them that he’s handling the situation.” Light nodded and urged me to continue. I finished it off with us calling the cops on him. They’ll finally have enough evidence if I die or don’t die. Never gone break their chains
The next day we tell the guys our plan and get the okay. Time to get the show running! It was after classes, Light and I were out in the field. There’s no secret signals, no boundaries, no nods to get ready. The clapboard has snapped and it’s action time.
“Hey, Light?”
“Yes?”
”I know you told Laito I cheated on him.”
I watched as her eyes widen and I let out a cynical laugh, “I’m not stupid. You can’t tell me anything else! You made me loose my date!” “Well, it wasn’t like you treated him well anyways..” she dragged on, rolling her eyes. Oh it’s on! “Haha oh yeah, like how you treated your boyfriend? Oh oops! Your ex-boyfriend!” It went on for awhile, us throwing insults back and forth at each other until we decided enough’s enough.Watching me patiently, watching me patiently
”FINE THEN! GET OUT OF MY DORM!” “YOUR DORM?! ITS SUPPOSED TO BE OURS YOU INCONSIDERATE CREATURE!” “FINE OUR DORM, BUT YOU’RE SLEEPING ON THE COUCH NOW!” And with that, she stormed off hurriedly, taking good measure and slamming the door too. I huff heavily and stomp away too, making sure Len watches me the whole way–Yes, I knew he was there–. Once I’m a relatively good distance away I take out my phone, schooling the angered look on my face. Watching me take the blame

I look up from my phone as Angel nods to other students making their ways towards me. I smile at him and nod slowly, trying not to draw even more attention to myself as my boyfriend comes over, “I’m sorry I’m late, shall we go M’lady?” He winks, holding out a hand. I giggle and take it, walking with him down to his dorm. We enter the room and I smile thoughtfully, “Hey, Dragon.” I greet Kanato and he smiles back.Never gone get away, never gone get away
”I’m on my way!” And with a small salute, he’s out of the door and most likely on his way to my dorm to check up on Light. I fell back on the sofa with my date, snuggling my head into the crook of his neck, kissing him chastely. PING!
’Number10: I’m safe, Dragon is here.
Dragon: Yep, she’s all good!’
”The plan was a success!” I mumble excitedly into his neck, “Yeah, it was. But let’s hope you stay safe okay Darling?” I blush and nod, staying how I was for a while longer. Never gonna break the chains
The next day, we head to our classes and Light and I still kept our hostile attitudes. No one really seemed to question it, which I guess shows how convincing Angel must’ve been. I'm running out of options, and they know
I began to notice that around almost every corner, Len was there. He wasn’t even hiding it anymore, he was just staring.

I let myself be calm, despite the fact I know he’s coming closer and closer everyday. It’s after classes today and I’m walking around alone outside on the campus field; it’s late and there’s no one out besides me. A near inaudible rustle of the bushes makes me stop in my tracks. Hear me when I say
The rustle stops. But I know who it is and what his intentions are. I stay out. It’s better I die here than right in front of Light or Laito. “Come out.” I call to Len, hearing a mocking snigger.

”Quit the small talk, do you want to kill me or not?” I goad on, poking that ego more and more. Don't blame it on the kids

I close my eyes and hold out my hands, bracing myself for my own death.
Huh? Why am I not dead yet? “DARK!” Kanato?? My eyes fly open as I see Kanato holding Len back, both seeming to be evenly matched. I look at both of them for a brief second before trying to push back Len with Kanato’s help; a sharp push sends me tumbling back onto the grass. “Run. Go and find Light and Laito now.” I stand, slightly dizzy, looking at him still trying to force Len back. “GO!” “I can’t leave you here!” I answer back in distress but a faint, warm smile melts on his face.“ This is not your fight, not your fight “ He tries to reassure me and I give up, sprinting to our dorms and banging on the doors.
“We have to go. NOW.” You played games, but we can forgive
We rush to the scene, and Kanato is thankfully still resisting, but he’s loosing strength. I share a glance between Light and Laito and we set off back into action. Put down the knife, put down the knife
While those three apprehended him I dialled ‘9-1-1’ on my phone and demanded the police be sent over because we found the murderer. They said they’d be over in 10 minutes and that we should try to keep him still until then.
