Hey everybody, Alexander here with an update that would take too many tweets or just a long wall of text in an image and uh- I am too lazy for that. So without wasting time, I'm just going to come out and say that it's over; but before everyone who sees that I run through projects like the devil through a corn field just abandoning WIP after WIP can react- allow me to explain!!

Soul Fall as you may know has the following origin- it's the 3rd "act" of a community-driven-story that's been going since 2008-ish. The story I always give: "10 friends who did some stuff on PS Home, managed to get the community up to several hundred, home died, we revamped on Facebook, some of us split, and we've spent years toiling with a revival and now here we are to tell more stories."
And with Soul Fall, our 3rd installment, we were going to really open things up to the public and put on some shows for people that like edgy fantasy writing, DND, gaming, all that noise.
Well, suffice to say the last year or 2 or however long it's been that Soul Fall has been getting tossed around, it's been Hell. Trying to sync up, trying to communicate, trying to kick shtuffz into gear. It just hasn't been happening and the project has been delayed several times. As of the last couple months it's been deadlocked again and, well, I've decided to pull out.

So what does this mean?
Well it means that I'm done with the group. What happens to Soul Fall, the server, not my problem anymore tbh. If anything I might go back to that old Facebook group cuz I hear that a revival is pending over there. That's the simple sweet answer cuz we just can't get our shit together.
And with me looking to move soon, me HOPING to get Ravenlight launched this year, I just can't with this anymore.
The group is dead, the community aspect is dead. Now- what about "Soul Fall: Veil of the Lost" you might be asking? Easy answer- it's going to continue.
Veil of the Lost focuses on my characters & stories, some of the characters & stories I've inherited, sometimes a cameo or 2 from past members of the community, and the continued legacy of what has been the last nearly 20 years of the lives of some. I'm not going to let that go because there's no reason to.
Veil of the Lost will continue as planned with chapters here and there at random as I feel motivated to make them. Aside from that my focus is going to be on Ravenlight and maybe a couple other projects that might FINALLY take root now that Soul Fall itself is dead.
All of this said, I should mention that I "MIGHT" maybe rebrand my Soul Fall content. I've always referred to this long as heck lore as 'Hollowverse' like uh, say the DCU or the Marvel U. That kind of verse, Hollowverse. So maybe what I'll end up doing is dropping Soul Fall and going to "Hollowverse- Veil of the Lost".
Time will tell with that one cuz I can be lazy.

So I'm sorry, I know I had a couple DMs from people interested in joining Soul Fall as players looking to interact with the world & other RPers; BUT it is what it is. BUT HEY uh... this might not be the end, ya know, might open up something else down the line.
Veil of the Lost is likely going to go on a mini break and the World Anvil is likely to change a bit as I start replanning certain things. If I do join that Facebook Group I will naturally be using Hollowverse there- as such VotL will continue to be side stories I choose to not include in the main group. And some of the SF assets (like Waconia with its map and all) I might want to preserve for something else (AKA that other thing I am teasing that could/might happen).
Other than that my only other news to share is uh, I'm going to be releasing a mini-arc here at some point that I've been actively writing. It's a culmination of years of a particular lore I want to wrap up in a final battle. Given the changes with- well, everything though, not sure how that will impact the outcome of this arc. Hoping to get a few things figured out while I'm still in the middle of the fight cuz it might determine who lives and who dies.
Also the discussions would help impact what I end up doing like... take Aegis who got his own intro chapter. He's a relatively new character to the canon and uh, maybe I opt to hold him back for a different project ya know?
So we'll see where this all goes.

Anyways, that's your Soul Fall news for now. I don't have anything else to share that's worth noting. Again, just gonna be some time till I figure things out now with this separation. Maybe rejoining the one group, maybe starting some new stuff, deciding what stays and what gets vaulted for later. And yeah- Veil of the Lost continuing.
