I wish I knew the words to say

To save somebody's life.

I wish I knew the words to say

To ask about your strife.

But my brain quits, my lips freeze 

And my tongue gets tied up in knots.

I wish the words would come with ease

But I just can't say things on the spot.

I can't even find the courage to say

A simple greeting like "how have you been?"

I open my mouth to say "hello" Or "hey"

But my voice doesn't work and the words stay within.

I wih I knew how to help you through.

I wish I could convince you it's not over yet.

I know that your hurting, and I am too.

I know that it feels like your caught in a net.

I don't know what kind of pain your in.

It's far more than mine and I don't know what I say.

I don't even know where to begin,

But I know I would mess the words up anyway.

The only thing I can say is this:

Even if no one else does, I will always care.

You may not think so, but you will be missed.

I know the pain is hard but it's something you can bear.
