{Recording Start} [Inaudible Muffled Sound] *Coughs* Hi, I'm Max. Mommy says I should start doing these recordings, so I can listen to them when I'm older. I'm eight years old right now, and I live in California, near L.A. I have a Mommy; Mary, a Daddy; James and my brothers, Freddy and Clarice. We used to have a dog; Rufus but he died a couple of years back. My Mom works at Shady Glen, a retirement home for old people. Daddy works in a garage fixing cars. My brother Freddy is seven, so he's too young to get a job, but he mostly lives in the hospital in Oakland. We go there to visit sometimes, but I don't like it. It's a big old building with no windows, and I sometimes have nightmares about getting trapped in there. Inside it's all white and smells funny. All the doctors who look after Freddy are boring and mean. They smile with their mouth but not their eyes, so you know they don't mean it. Mommy says it must be hard working in a place like that.
