<<THE WORLD>>是一款瘋摩全球的VR線上遊戲，這遊戲全無規則限制，能夠讓玩家隨心所為，管理遊戲內所發生的問題只靠被委任為管理員的玩家，當中分為管理員GP ( GAME PREFECT )和最高級別管理員GM ( GAME MASTER )；一天，一個名為「Hunter」的黑客集團入侵遊戲內部，成功解除對虛擬世界內管理員的保護，在多個玩家圍攻下成功將一名GP在遊戲中殺死，引起了前所未有的「狩獵潮」，管理員玩家人人自危，而身為「GM」的玩家「天劍」為了挽回玩家對管理員的信心，不惜賭上遊戲中的榮譽，來與「hunter」對抗。
