Suspicious writing - Writing multiple stories at once

So, ever since 10th grade (about two years) I've been working on this pretty extensive project called Absolutt Bliss (It's in Norwegian). I recently found half a manuscript of 50,000 words the other day while I was digging through my DropBox. This inspired me to revive the project and to (maybe) even post it here on Wattpad.

But it got me thinking that I'm working on too many things at once. NaNoWriMo is coming up and I need to focus on my story We Were the Wild Ones. At the same time I'm writing the second book of my Norwegian fantasy trilogy (called I Voldelige Tider or In Violent Times), writing Aboslutt Bliss, sketching my romance novel called The Paper Riots and writing the steampunk novel Fragments. Aaaand I'm working on a novella set in the same universe as my trilogy called Maximilian and Ackles. With that many projects going on at once, one might think it would be hard to focus on the task ahead (NaNoWriMo). I have a strategy. I'm done outlining We Were the Wild Ones, and I have made the playlist and fully immersed myself in the world. Since WWTWO is a contemporary project, I don't have to focus that much on world building. Hell, there was more world building in Document9 than there will be in WWTWO..

The secret to any good writer is (and don't kill me if I'm wrong) patience. Writing is a craft, like anything else. You need to hone your skills in order to write well. I think that's something I often tend to forget as I'm writing. Because when I'm writing, I'm so engrossed in the world and the characters I'm creating, I just want the story to be over with so everyone can read it. I want people to be as enthusiastic about my novels as I am about them. And unless you're J.K.Rowling or George R.R. Martin, that might be hard to do. And yes, you can sit and update your story, hoping that someone will read it. But ultimately, there is an ocean of well written stories out there that very few people have read.

So when I sit down and go through my Word documents, and find hundreds of unfinished stories, and story ideas: What am I to do? Well, there's only one thing that I can do. I can make time, focus on one of them, sit down and write and ultimately hope that someone will read what I have to say.
