"Come with me." The blonde had taken another step before falling onto his knees. "Ren, come with me!"
"I...can't do that.I'm...sorry, Cal. Run..."
"Ren!"
"You there!" Dark eyes had shot forward to focus on man with a gun. "Come here. Come with me."
Looking back down at the collapsed youth, the brown-eyed child stepped away before turning on his heels. Holding in a whine as a bullet whizzed past his head, he looked back to see one of the three individuals rolling Ren over prior to him being hoisted up and tossed over his captor's shoulder to be taken away.
"Ren!"
"Ren!"
Bolting upright, Calix grasped at the silver chain given to him. Releasing the gift, he looked around slowly to see that he was back in their little hideout. Feeling something roll down his forehead, he wiped it off with the back of his hand before realizing it was sweat. Picking up on a low, yet harsh sound, he then realized it was his breathing.
"CL." Said person looked up to see Will watching him carefully. "How are you feeling?"
"Um, fine," he replied, swinging his legs over the couch. Getting to his feet, he soon collapsed into a broken heap sitting on the floor. "Fuck…" Trying to pull himself up, he grimaced when his friend came over to give assistance. Once seated, he leaned back on the sofa actually feeling the onslaught of growing pain that was starting to take over. "What happened?"
"Ren, you can let go."
"Where's Ren?" he questioned.
"Yo!" The duo looked towards the redhead leaning in the doorway with a bottle of soda. He then tossed it to the seated raven, only to watch said item hit the floor. "Hey, what's wrong? You could've caught that." Tawny eyes then picked up on the pointed glare coming from Will. "Oh, uh, did you take the aspirin?"
"No, I have other things to worry about," Cal said as he pulled himself into an upright position, wincing again. "Where's Ren?"
"Let's not think about that right now, Cal." Brown eyes shifted to see the offered aspirin. "C'mon, take this. You're going to need it."
"Where's Evren?" Will looked back at Renyx prior to hearing the question again. "Where is he?"
"Who knows and who cares," Renyx replied as he watched SHU scuttle towards a nearby monitor.
"Typical," the raven groused as he took a painful step forward.
"Cal-"
"CL, take the aspirin," Will said before having the small pill swatted out her hand.
"I don't want the damn aspirin! What I want is to know where Evren is!"
"Cal-"
"He's hurt dammit!" the teen snapped before holding his sides.
"Take the aspirin, Calix Lefay," Renyx ordered as aforementioned hobbled towards the exit.
"Shut the hell up, Anthony," came the reply. The speaker practically doubled over soon after, holding his sides once more. Feeling a hand rest along his shoulder, he swatted it away. "Don't touch me!"
"You need help."
"I do not!"
"You're in a ball-you know what?" Ochre-colored eyes diverted themselves towards the female that had retrieved the aspirin. Taking it from her, he grabbed ahold of one of Calix's arms before pulling him over. "You're taking this pill," Renyx growled, holding the thing up.
"Make m-"
Having the capsule pushed into his mouth without warning, he went to spit the thing out. However, a hand clamped over his mouth. Glaring back at the one holding him still, Cal began wiggling around.
"Swallow it." Receiving a muffled sound of defiance, Renyx slid his hand up a bit to cover his friend's nose as well. "I said swallow!" He received the same sound as before. "You're going to run out of air if you don't." Brown eyes narrowed to mere slits. "Try me."
"Anth-"
"He needs to take it," the redhead stated as he and the raven had a stare down.
"You're not going to win, you know?"
"I'm not going to let up either."

"Come with me." He remembered taking another step before falling onto his knees. "Ren, come with me!"
"I...can't do that.I'm...sorry, Cal. Run..."
"Ren!"
Bolting upright, Evren slowly ran his fingers through his hair. Sensing another nearby, he slowly lowered his hand, catching minor signs of the pain that was beginning to creep its way into his more conscious state.
"Why are you here?"
"Why don't we start with a 'thank you'? After all, I did bring your butt back here," Tyson commented offhandedly. "Besides, what the hell happened to you?"
"Nothing. It's none of your business."
"Uh, yeah, it is! Who do you think has to do a report on this? Besides, that dark bruise around your eye doesn't look like nothing." Evren grimaced. "Just wait until the Director gets a load of that shiner."
"You mean he hasn't seen it yet?"
Ty shook his head. "Nope, I just brought you here after finding you in the garage."
"The garage?"
"That is what I just said," Tyson replied before rubbing the back of your neck. "Whoever got you must've hit you pretty hard if you don't even remember getting here." Evren looked elsewhere prior to hearing the other man scoff, "Don't tell me you don't remember walking back."
"I do remember. Now leave me alone. I've been gone for one night and your voice is already starting to give me a headache."
"Ev-"
"I said to go away!"
"Fine!" Grabbing his jacket from the chair, Tyson tossed it over his shoulder as he headed to the door "Good luck explaining yourself to the Director after the report I give him."
Scowling, the white-haired officer looked towards a shrouded window prior to hearing the door open.
He already knew he'd be reprimanded for his unauthorized excursion but he wasn't too sure what their employer had in mind when it came down to the bruising around his eye. A fight would be the only logical explanation though it had to be one of justly cost rather than some absentminded street brawl.
In other words, he was screwed the moment their leader got a look at him.
"Wait."
"What is it?" Red eyes shifted towards the man sitting on the medical table. "If you didn't notice, I was kinda in the process of leaving, remember? Evren-"
"Don't say anything, ok?"
"No, I'm giving a report," Ty replied as he headed out.
"Wait!"
Seeing how the door closed with a snap, Evren slid off the table quickly, wincing after several steps before reaching the door. Staggering back when he caught sight of a well-tailored suit, Evren bowed his head quickly, hiding his gaze behind his colorless fringe of hair. Taking a step back to allow the other entry, he waited patiently until the newcomer had entered before turning to hurry out himself.
"Halt." The officer stopped midstride prior to hunching his shoulders. "About face."
Moving slightly, Evren didn't do much else. Hearing the command again, he lowered his head further before startling when he heard footsteps approach him. Again, the command came before Evren executed it. Already having a general idea of what to expect from the man, he straightened and held his head up high, awaiting any interrogation that his boss would give him. Instead, he was startled once more when the Director grabbed his chin and tilted his head slowly at all angles to get a better look at the black eye inflicted.
"Tell me how that happened; in detail mind you."
"I-I can't say, sir."
"You…can't say?"
"Yes."
"And why on earth not?" the superior asked slowly, as if he was talking to a child. "What happened?"
"It was a cheap shot, sir."
"A cheap-someone managed to strike you in the face, Evren?" Mismatched eyes averted themselves slowly before focusing on the ochre pair watching him carefully now. "When did this happen then?"
"Last night, sir."
"Where was your backup?"
"I didn't have any," he replied.
"Your team."
"Wasn't present, sir."
"Wasn't…present?" the Director questioned slowly. His officer averted his eyes. "Evren, look at me when I'm talking to you." Aforementioned did so. "You should know the rules. As a lead-" The white-haired man dropped his gaze for a moment before looking up once more. "Evren."
"Leader or not, I failed to follow a simple task of engaging an opponent without the proper knowledge of the individual as well as not having a form of back up. For that, I do apologize, sir," he said with a slight bow. "Not only is it a disgrace on the headquarters' behalf but one on your behalf as well. Again, I do apologize, sir and I'm willing to accept any punishment you see fit."
"Dutiful as usual." The younger male merely stood by. "However-" Evren tensed considerably though he did his best not to show it. "-bringing you to Polaris may have proved a tad rash. Perhaps I should've followed up with what I had planned for you originally. After all, that's what your special training dictates."

"Well, what are we going to do about Saturday night then?"
"Can we please worry about the matter at hand?"
"Well, he's still breathing, ain't he?"
"That's not the point!"
"Hey, keep yellin'. I think he's comin' 'round."
"I was not yelling!"
"Oi, ya didn't hafta' hit me!" Renyx groused as he rubbed his now sore shoulder. "Damn woman."
Hearing a small groan, tawny and brown eyes alike focused on the waking teen. Catching fuzzy slivers of brown looking back, Will offered a smile before dodging out the way of a punch thrown.
"Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!" the redhead repeated over and over again as he held his nose "What the -"
"You son a-I could've died!"
"Told you to let go," Will added.
"She told you to let go," Calix repeated angrily. "You tried to kill me, you asshole!"
"I did not!" Renyx snapped back. "You wouldn't swallow the damn aspirin so I held your nose until you did!"
"So you did try to kill me?!"
"I was helping you!"
"You were trying to kill me!" Cal snapped as he got to his feet. "I could've died with that stunt you pulled!"
"You jump across roofs and take on armed officers with just a staff and you're worried about me trying to kill you with an aspirin?!"
"So you admit it!" the raven said with a wince when he took an angry step forward.
"Could've worded that better," Will muttered towards the oldest male. "Kinda' made him mad now."
"You think?" Renyx asked as he sidestepped a punch. He then caught ahold of the fist flying towards him prior to pushing Calix back onto the couch watching him wince in the process. "You need to take it easy, Cal. Take another as-"
"I don't need an aspirin! What I need is to know where Evren is!"
"Why are you so obsessed with him?!"
"I'm not obsessed!"
"That's something an obsessed person would say," Renyx stated as he shoved his hand in his pocket. He then withdrew a small container of pills. "C'mon and take the aspirin."
"I'm not obsessed! Screw the aspirin and screw you too!" Calix shouted before hopping over the back of the couch. Stumbling after two steps, he glanced back at the redhead headed towards him before getting into a more defensive stance. "Stay away from me."
"And where do you think you're going in that state?" Renyx questioned as he stepped around a mass of wires.
"Don't do anything rash," Will warned.
"I'm not. I'm just trying to figure out why our friend is so fixated on finding this psycho that has not only threaten to throw him in jail, but left him in this state."
"Evren didn't do any of this! He was trying to help me!"
"He was probably going to kill you."
"He wouldn't do that!"
"How would you know?" Renyx said, eyeing the defensive male just out of arm's reach. "How do you know that he won't go and stab you in the back?" He then stepped forward, getting a hold of the teen's wrist. "How do you know he won't shoot you right in the face?"
"Anthony," Will warned.
"What will you do when you're backed into a corner by that man? Did you forget what he is?!"
"He's not like that!" Calix countered.
"And how do you know?" Renyx asked, tightening his hold when the other tensed. "How do you know he's not going to turn on you?!"
"Because-"
"How?!"
"Because he's my best friend!" Cal growled, grabbing hold of the man's sleeve.
"We're you're best friends!" Renyx replied angrily prior to feeling the floor beneath his stomach. Feeling his other arm being wrenched behind him, he clenched his jaw. "We're best friends, Cal. Say it."
"CL, let him go." Brown eyes drifted Will's way. "C'mon, let him go, CL."
Doing as told, Cal stepped back prior to turning to leave. Hearing his name being called, he glanced back at the red-haired male prior to hurrying out the side door. Listening to the reverberating sound of the door, Calix looked left then right prior to opting for the path straight across. Moments later, he heard Renyx yelling his name though he didn't turn back and he refused to reply. Reaching a ladder, he climbed his way up before pushing aside the metal lid blocking outside world.
Pulling himself out of the hole, Cal took a look around, giving his eyes time to adjust prior to fishing through his pocket. Finding a suitable looking wall, he made his way over prior to pulling out his communicator and calling up his guardian.
"Mal."
Said person looked across his desk to see his appointed charge staring at him. "Cal!"
"Yeah, hey."
"Where the hell have you been?!"
"School."
"Cal…"
"What? I was at school."
"I didn't see you leave today."
"Well, I left early."
"So, where are you right now?"
"School."
"Bullshit."
"What?"
"You're not in school. Where are you?" Malecai questioned, pulling the holoscreen over. "Where are you?"
"School."
"Stop lying to me, Calix. Where are you?"
"I told you already. I'm in sch-"
"They called about half an hour ago. You're not in school." Removing his glasses, the older man pinched the bridge of his nose prior to sighing. "Where are you?"
"I-"
"And don't say school." Glaring when no answer came, Mal softened his look. "Calix." Aforementioned looked at him once more. "Where are you? Are you hurt? Do you need me to come get you?" Grey eyes watched as a slight smile pulled at the teen's face. "Cal…what happened? Did you have another run-in with the officers?"
Calix rubbed the back of his neck gingerly. "It's nothing to worry about. I'll see you back at home."
"Cal-"
Slipping the round phone back into his pocket, Cal slowly brought his hand up to cradle one side before feeling his legs give out. Lifting his shirt, he stared at the angry bruises he received from being used as a safety pad before mustering the strength to get his body to move again. It took some time but after ten minutes, he managed to get his feet under him.
That was about it really.
Actually walking proved to be a difficult feat in itself.
Roughly two hours had passed before he managed to pull himself out of the old Polaris and cross the border into that of the new city. By that point, his entire body shook from strain. By that point, he was contemplating on calling for his guardian. He started to suspect that he'd be in a better state than he was if he had actually taken the aspirin Will had been trying to give to him. Then again, it could've been something she had come up with and needed a test dummy for.
She could've used Renyx. He's dumb enough.
Nodding his head at the thought, Calix carried on for at least another hour before finally pulling himself up the small flight of stairs leading to his front door. Fumbling around for his keys, he unlocked the door once he found them and dragged himself inside. Walking over to the living room, he sank down onto the nearest couch and slid his eyes shut for much needed rest.
"Calix!" Said person cracked his eyes open. "Calix!"
Rolling over slowly, the teen looked up at the blurred sight of his guardian. "Mmm…Malecai…?"
"Thank god." Sleepy eyes blinked once. "The door was left open."
"I forgot to lock it…?"
"You forgot to close it!" the man corrected. "Where have you been?" The teen opened his mouth. "And don't say school."
"Fine, I won't say school," he muttered before closing his eyes once more. His eyes cracked open when he felt a tap to the cheek. "What?" he grumbled.
"What's wrong with you? You're not one to ditch…consecutively anyway."
"Wasn't ditching…just…just lemme rest, ok?"
"Cal…"
"…Mal…"
Watching as the younger male's eyes slipped shut again; Malecai grimaced before hooking an arm around his waist and draping the other along his shoulder. "C'mon, at least sleep in your room." He pulled then the other off the couch, merely to have him sink towards the ground. "C'mon, you could at least help me out."
"H…hurts to move anym…"
"Hurts?" Calix nodded once before he began to slip further down. "Cal, what happened?"
"Fell…"
"You fell?" Mal received a nod. "Fell from where?" He watched as his charge furrowed his brow. "Calix, tell me," Malecai said before feeling the other go limp altogether. "Cal?" Said person remained still. "Calix!"

"Again."
Picking himself from off the floor, Evren picked up the 9mm that had fallen from his latest opponent's hand. Holding up his arm, he deflected a kick prior to hopping back several paces as he let the limb fall back to his side. Looking around as he heard several steps come forward from all directions, mismatched eyes turned upwards to regard the lights above. The moment he lowered his head was the moment they went off, one by one. Cocking his weapon, Evren exhaled slowly prior to closing his eyes.
He could hear footsteps coming from the front, roughly three paces to left. Another was coming from behind with an equal amount of paces from the right. Picking up on the sound of four weapons being cocked, the officer ran forward to take out the one that he determined to be closest.
Freezing midstride, he heard a bullet whiz by his ear prior to feeling several strands of hair fall onto his shoulder. Hearing motion from the front, he leaned back, kicking his leg out to feel his foot connect with the hand of one of his opponents. Standing straight, he hopped up enough to switch feet, knocking the other's gun from their hand prior to raising his foot high enough to strike them in the chest. Listening to the sound of a body connecting to the floor, Evren straightened before pocketing his gun in favor of grabbing the fist thrown his way. Looking in the direction it had come, he pulled the member towards him before using the momentum to flip them onto their back. A second bullet whizzing by had him halting in delivering a paralyzing blow as he felt something beginning to flow from the upper half of his arm.
Unable to see, but knowing what it was, Evren looked around steadily before catching the faintest sound of breath several steps behind him. Turning on his heels, his gun now in hand, it didn't take long for his weapon to collide with his opponent's. Staying close, and focusing on the sound of their feet, Evren managed to knock the other's hand upwards the moment they went to pull the trigger. The feeling of glass shards raining down did nothing to deter the man that was now in the process of pulling the trigger himself. Another click of a gun's hammer had him backpedalling into a wall before dropping into a crouch. Listening out for anything foreign, he eased forward slowly before jumping onto yet another opponent.
Pressing his knees behind the other's legs, he placed his hands on either side of their head before snapping it to the right. Getting off, he picked up the fallen weapon, bringing the hammer back. Pointing the barrel of his newer gun behind him, he pointed the barrel of his previous one forward before altering its aim several centimeters to the left. Firing a round simultaneously, the officer barely batted an eye from the small spark produced as his shot connected with another from the other shooter. Hearing two weapons being locked on either side of his head, he held up his hands, dropping the guns the moment the lights came back on.
Looking left then right to see the barrels of two Ruger 10/22s being aimed at his temples, Evren looked ahead to see the Director watching him from the skybox. Seeing how the older gentleman had arched an eyebrow, the younger officer lashed out, knocking off their aim entirely prior to getting a hold of the two things that had been pointed at him. Pulling the triggers without delay, he pulled them again to hear the empty chambers. Throwing the empty guns aside, he tugged dropped his arms in a deliberate jerking motion. Feeling two clips drop free to the floor, he glanced down at them before kicking his leg back to catch his would be assailant in the chest. When they had dropped their gun, he caught the item prior to rolling over to the side to fire at the person taking aim at him. Seeing an automatic being pointed his way, he rolled to his feet before running to get out of the way.
Crossing the room, Evren kicked off a nearby wall before turning to deliver a roundhouse kick to the head. Catching the weapon that had fallen from their hands the moment they went to hit the ground, the officer opened fire on the remaining members still standing until he heard the click of the empty weapon. Looking down at it, he hopped to his feet before sprinting across the room.
Weaving between bullets being aimed his way, he didn't slow by a fraction when one caught him in the shin, nor did he slow when another lodged itself in his upper arm, the third just grazing his shoulder. Tossing the automatic aside in favor of grabbing one of the abandoned Rugers, he fired the remaining rounds out of them before releasing the empty magazines. Gauging the distance between him and his last few opponents, he dodged the oncoming shells before dropping down to his knees to slide across the floor.
Slamming the firearms down onto the clips he had dropped some time ago, he clicked them together before hopping to his feet in a fluid motion. Pointing one of the weapons forward, he fired off rounds while the other gun pointed off in the opposite direction doing the same. Sidestepping a bullet, he altered his gun's aim and fired the last of his rounds into the shooter before dropping both of his arms at his side, letting the firearms fall to the floor.
Mismatched eyes then observed the sparks coming from the androids' heads and various body parts prior to focusing on the individual who was clapping from his perch. Watching as the man rose from his seat, taking a step forward, Evren disregarded the shortages coming from the broken machinery prior to them all starting to self-destruct around him.
"That was very good, Evren."
"Thank you, sir," he replied with a slight bow.
His eyes then note notice of the blood running down his arm, staining his uniform prior to looking down at his shin as his leg started to buckle beneath him. Feeling the same warm ribbon running down his cheek to dribble from his chin, he went to wipe it away before stilling when he felt the gaze of his employer.
"That was very good, Evren."
"Thank-"
"But I know you can do this without being hit," he said firmly. "Now, do it again."
Bowing at the waist once more, the officer's oddly-colored eyes stayed focused on the floor a the defeated machines were taken out to be replaced with newer, faster and stronger ones.
"You may begin."
Hearing their sensors and weapons lock onto his person, Evren raised his head by an inch. "As you wish, sir."635Please respect copyright.PENANAQIL0rOjAP6
