I know what I want in the near future while most of the classmembers have no idea and just focus on their make up and nightlife. I always liked computers; as a child to play PC games like Lemings, Disney Tarzan and Hercules. Now to write stories, homework, calculations and more. Knowing behind all this is thanks to one man who also stopped the Second World War.
Alan Turing; as I saw the movie "The Imitation Game" I nearly bursted in tears at the end. Pardoning him first now when he is dead for many decades ONLY because he was homosexual. During the film I saw few similarities to my life. Many have trouble understanding me because I think too far and complex plus am an introvert to certain strangers. Especially when it has to be in German which is no easy language (live in Switzerland). I mostly got mobbed by girls from 4th till 10th grade. Only because of my poor German knowledge at that time, had different interests, was basically different for them and had special hobbies (fencing, writing and Irish dancing although no Irish relation in the family). And finally lived for eight years in south of Sweden (no relation there either) which gave me a wider perspective at certain things in life.
Sherlock Holmes is my idol; learn to observe and think logic; try to make much use of my brain as possible. And Albert Einstein who said many great quotes that I fully understand and accept.
I may not be an eccentric like Alan Turing but I have few things in common like him. I love apples, solving crosswords (under 6 or 10 minutes), ride bicycle everyday to school no matter what weather; except ice and snow. Barely drink alcohol and find things intriguing that are a mystery, part of history or do not appear so at first glance. And hold an optimisim to think nothing is impossible. Therefore the opposite are: I am not homosexual and do not exactly hate mathematics but do not like it either. Many years ago before I read Sherlock Holmes and saw "The Imitation Game", I bought a book about cryptology. There I read for the first time about Enigma and Alan Turing. I started to practise code writing for myself. Special words that can only be understood and rearranged if one knew where to look. As if it all was a secret and then again not. Like a special mathematic formula that appears at first glance confusing but once won the right perspective it all becomes logical. Once during school in a small recess as I was writing a code to pass the time. Suddenly the girls who mobbed me looked over my shoulder and quickly grabbed the note out of my hands. They could not make heads or tails of it as they read it and gave it back to me. They asked what it was but I responded that it was none of their business. This theme, this music is beautiful. The violins guiding as soft as a feather of a bird's wing and moves thus elegantly. I never played the violin but would SO love to start. Alas my mother would not let me, out of personal reasons, financial and by me the time. The music sounds at the same time sad and somewhat joyous or even with pride. That is how my life went until today as I write these words. Endure many hardships and loneliness that I have gotten used to very quickly because I am an only child in the family and enjoyed few small things and moments, including having at certain things a sense of pride. Although endured many negative aspects, I try my best to remain optimistic and realistic.
Guess what, even Sherlock Holmes read a book about cryptology (the Dancing Men).
