Fear is immobilizing, isn't it? It's like a vicious dog that barks with every step we take into it. The worst fear, in my opinion, is when it settles in the pit of your stomach, waiting for the perfect moment to rise up and stop you from living. We all fear something, don't we? And we will all take a step in on direction to benefit us in one way or another. So if we fear something, we will naturally be repulsed by it, no? But then it still lurks, in the pit of your belly, just waiting to rise and rule you. It waits and waits, and if left unkept, turns into overgrown roses with thorns so sharp they could pierce the strongest of armors. But how must we get away from fear if that only lets it flourish and grow?
We don't. We simply don't step away from it. Because just as we have fear, we have something else. Something behind the fear. Something that wills us to move rather than stop us from living.
Courage.
Courage is not the absence of fear, no, not at all. It's the ability to face it, and defeat it. It can cause us to walk in the midsts of our fears and say, "I can and I will."
