"Are you sure it was him Ains?" Dom asks me in worried questionable look.
"It might be. He told me to watch my back earlier."
"When was this?" Kaison asks me.
"It was during lunch time. I ran into him accidentally and he pulled me into a closet to talk to me" I answer while shuffling my feet on the bottom of the car. Dom is driving me home in my car because I am still shocked after what has happened today.
"He didn't try anything on you did he?" I hear Dom ask me. I gulp and take a deep breath before answering his question. I close my eyes and think about my encounter with Elijah Woods.
"I can do things you won't even imagine" I can still feel his grip on me and the scent of his cologne on my clothes. I can still Imagine his lips on mine, even though he hasn't kissed me yet. I swear that boy is doing things to me and he's not even here. I then was startled by someone gently putting their hand on my shoulder.
"You okay? You spaced out for a few minutes" I look and see that it was Dom's voice. I look at both Dom and Kaison and they had a questionable look on their faces.
"Yeah I'm okay. And to answer your question, no he didn't try anything" I answer partially lying to them. If I tell them what he did, then I won't be hearing the end of it. And Elijah would probably send both of them to the hospital. So, that'll be our little secret. For now.
We sit in silence for the rest of the car way home and we arrive back at the school so Kaison can pick up his car. He gets out, thanks for the ride and heads back into the school to get his things. We wait for him to get his stuff and get to his car, because we don't know what could happen if we just left him by himself.
Once he gets to his car, Dom and I decide to head home. His boyfriend took his motorcycle back to his place since Dom was driving home with me. We arrive back at my house a few minutes later and I check the time before heading inside. I look at my phone and it says, '5:45pm'.
"Oh no, I'm not going to hear the end of this, aren't I?" I think to myself while letting out a small quiet sigh.
"Don't worry Ains. I'll tell them you came over and studied at my place and you lost track of time." Dom says leaving a smile plastered on his lips. We enter into the house and I see my dad cooking and my siblings laying on the couch, watching TV. Hmm, I wonder where our step mom is?
"Hey Ains, you're a little late coming home" I hear my dad saying while steaming up some vegetables in the pot.
"Hey Dad. Yeah I'm sorry, I was busying studying at Dom's place and lost track of time. I should've texted you. I'm sorry" I lie while taking a deep breath afterwards.
"Well, thanks for telling me where you were. Dinner will be ready in a few minutes. If you want to wash up quickly, you can go do that real quick".
"Okay" I say while Dom heads towards the couch and sits down between my siblings and changes the channel making them yell at him. He laughs and then changes it back to what they were watching before. Gotta love these three.
I head up to the bathroom and go wash my hands and splash some cold water on my face. I pat down my face dry with a towel and I glance into the mirror and see that the small bruises from Elijah's grip has formed on my wrist. How hard was he gripping them? They hurt to the point where I might need a brace.
If I wear one I won't be hearing the end of it from Kaison and Dominick. I shake it off and then head back downstairs to hear my dad scream out, "dinner is ready!"
Everyone gets off of the couch and slowly run into the kitchen to grab some of the food that is ready for us. Dom waits for me and we wait for my crazy siblings to get some of the food that we may or may not be able to eat. These two eat alot.
"We're not gonna get any at this rate" Dom whispers to me with a little laughter in his voice.
"I agree. We might have to order food while we're waiting." I answer back and we both quietly laugh until it was our turn to get some food, finally!
Twenty minutes or so later, we finish our food and go put them in the dishwasher. Dom and I head upstairs and talk about what happened earlier today at school.
"So, you're sure that it was Elijah's gang that did this?" Dom asks while standing there with his arms across his chest.
"It could have been. Elijah told me to watch my back earlier. I told you that already."
"But why would he do it. He wouldn't do that just because you ran into him."
"Yeah, but I also did stand up to him. He asked me to get out of his way and I said no. He got furious and dragged me into the janitors closet to yell at me some more" I explain, leaving out the somewhat sexual tension parts. Technically I'm not lying to him.
"Damn, you had some nerve standing up to him. My little Ainsley is finally growing up" Dom says squeezing me into a tight hug. He then releases me a few seconds later so that I can catch my breath.
"Yeah, uh thanks Dom. I hated doing it, but I wasn't going to let him speak to me like that."
"Now that is why you're my best friend" Dom says leaving a smile on his face.
"Awe, thank you Dom. I love you" I say wrapping my arms around Dom embracing into a hug.
"I love you too Ains" he whispers in my ear while wrapping his arms around me.
"Well I should get going home, don't want my parents to start worrying, again."
"Of course, dont want another repeat of when we were 12."
"Yeah, definitely I will see you tomorrow at school then."
"Yeah, bye Dom" we wave each other goodbye and he heads out to head home. Good thing he only lives a block away so he doesn't have to walk far.
I look up at my wall clock and realize that it is around 9 pm and I haven't done my homework yet. I grab my homework from my bag and do as much as I can before I go to bed soon. Good thing I don't have much left to do. I got a lot of it done in study hall anyways, so it shouldn't take long for me to get this assignment done.
After a couple of hours, I finally got my homework done and I can't wait to sleep in my bed once more. I change into a pair of black sweatpants and a grey v neck t-shirt. I go put my phone onto the charger and then out of nowhere I hear a clink of a pebble hitting my window.
I thought it was just my mind messing with me until a few seconds later I hear it again, but more forcefully this time. I go over to my window, open it and see the one person that I did not expect to be here. I open up my window and let them crawl up my tree and through my window. I can't believe that he is here, in my room.
"What the hell are you doing here and how did you find out where I live?!" I ask angrily.
"I found out from a friend of yours and surprisingly I am here to protect you. Even though I don't like you nerd" he says while looking and walking around my room.
"Oh great, how long do you have to be here to protect me? And from who exactly?"I ask him crossing my arms across my chest.
"From the gang that destroyed your car earlier at school" he says sounding a little bit annoyed.
"Okay wait, so you didn't destroy my car? Then what did you mean by watch your back earlier in the janitor's closet, Elijah?"
"I may be part of a gang, but I would never destroy a car. Only people's self-esteem. And what I meant by that is that the gang you got messed up with the other night is out to get you. You done asking me questions now?" he replies walking towards me and stands in front of me crossing his arms across his broad chest area making his muscles bulge a little bit.
"Thanks for clearing that up, but I don't need your help. I already have someone else watching over me."
"Let me guess, he's the boss's servant, Kaison?"
"Yes, wait. What do you mean by the boss's servant?"
"He picks up whatever the boss needs and sometimes he has to go and pay for the things that the boss wants him to pick up as well. If he doesn't do it on time, well he gets a beating as a lesson and a warning." Elijah explains to me the best that he can.
"Makes sense. How did you know that I got messed up with the gang the other night? You were nowhere to be seen? And also, do you work for this gang as well or are you in another one around here?" I say going towards my bed and sitting down in front of Elijah.
"Yes, I am in the same gang as Kaison. He just can't tell you because if he did then we would all be in big trouble with the boss. He would not be happy with us. But since you figured it out all on your own, you are now in danger and he wants your head on a stick. Going to make sure that won't happen."
"Okay. Thanks for the heads up. But you don't really need to be here. I can take care of myself."
"Oh really?" he says turning his head towards me with a smirk. I didn't notice the smirk because I was still processing what Elijah just told me.
Elijah breaks me from my train of thought by grabbing my wrists and push me down onto my bed and wraps his legs around my waist blocking me from doing anything.
"Really, if you wanted my attention so bad you could've just tapped me on my shoulder." I reply to him trying to get out of grip.
"I could've, but how are you going to get out of this then huh?" he says with a devilish smile on his face.
"I don't know. I give up." I reply. He lets go of his grips and gets off of me.
Elijah stands back up next to me and offers me a hand and I stupidly grabbed it. I grab it and he pulls me in close to the point where my hand is on his chest and I can feel his steady heartbeat. He wraps one of his hand around my waist and his other hand still has a grip on the one that I am holding onto. We just stand there for what seems like a long time, but before I could say or do anything he plants his lips onto mine. I could feel the sparks this time. I didn't feel like this when Kaison did this the other night.
He lifts me up and lays me down on my bed not breaking from the kiss. He moves one of his hands underneath my shirt and grips his hand around my waist roughly, but not hard enough to break anything. He moves his lips down to my cheek and then further down to my neck until he opens his mouth and bites down, making me let out a noise that I haven't done before.
I wrap my arms around his neck and run one of my hands through his hair while he keeps kissing my neck. I also wrap my legs around him and start biting his ear. He lets out a little grumble in his throat and goes back to kissing me. I keep on letting him kiss me until he stops and stares at me realizing what he has done. He plants another soft kiss on my lips and gets up off the bed. I follow him and realize that he wants to leave.
"I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry" Elijah says wiping his lips. I grab his hand and plant a kiss on his cheek.
"No need to be sorry. I won't tell anyone. I guess this will be our second little secret." I reply with a wink.
"Second little secret?" he asks me crossing his arms again acting like he doesn't know.
"Yeah, I didn't forget about what could have happened in the janitor's closet mister bad boy" I reply flirtatiously with a bit of laughter in my voice.
"Awh, I see. I could've done worse tonight if I wanted to, you know?" he says with a smile on his face.
"Why didn't you?" I reply back with a half-smile.
"Because right now is not the right time, plus I don't take advantage of women like you. It's just not right."
"Awe, the big bad tough gang boy has a heart. How sweet. Hehe." I say opening up the window letting in some cool air.
"Yeah, but don't tell anyone. I like it when the geeky kids run away in fear" he whispers to me.
"Awh, okay. Another secret, got it" I say imitating a lock across my lips and throwing away the invisible key.
"Thank you. See you at classes tomorrow. I am just going to go sleep on your couch over there for the night just in case they come in the middle of the night, nerd." Before I could let him go over there I wrap both of my hands around his wrist stopping him from going over there.
"What is it now nerd?" he asks me with a questioned look.
"You can sleep in my bed I have plenty of space on there, besides you won't fit on that couch." I reply letting go of his wrist and go turn off one of my lights leaving my lamp light on and then head towards my side of the bed. He hesitates for a little while and then goes towards the other side of my bed taking off his shirt in the process.
We both lay down on the bed facing away from each other and I turn off the lamp light leaving us alone in the dark. I close my eyes and drift away to sleep in a matter of minutes.
"Tell us where you are hiding him or we will beat Elijah until you tell us. Now tell me where Kaison is now!!"
"I won't tell you. I promised them I wouldn't say anything!! Let him go!!"
The man grabs my face and stands behind me watching his men beat up Elijah. I try to struggle free but the man has a strong grip on me. I manage to let out a scream until the man lets go of me and slaps my face hard.
"Shut up bitch. He is getting what he deserves, and now it is your turn" he says with a smirk on his face.
"No, leave me alone. Don't touch me!!"
"NO!"
"NO!!"
"Ainslee wake up. Wake up!" I hear a familiar voice say trying to wake me up.
"Are you okay?" I hear them say and turn around to see that it was Elijah sitting there with a startled look on his face and a hand on my shoulder.
I take a deep breath and give him a headshake. He moves over a little bit and surprisingly wraps his arms around me like a normal human being. I am seeing a whole different side of him that I haven't seen before. Everyone thinks that he is a demon with no soul. But this guy right here barely knows me and he is hugging me in my right now. It's weird how life can be. And I still can't believe that he stayed this long. We break from the hug and I check the time to see that it was 8 am already. Wait, what?! I rush out of bed and go get dressed in my bathroom
He notices me rushing and gets up from my bed quickly and I rush out of the bathroom and toss him back the shirt he was wearing the night before. He puts it on and before I could thank him I hear some footsteps come towards my door and stop right by my room. That is weird, everyone in my house is all gone. I go towards my door and look through the little peephole and see that it is someone that isn't supposed to be in my house. I remember that man from the other night! I rush back over to Elijah and gesture him to go towards my window.
"I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE AINSLEE, COME OUT NOW AND I WON'T HURT YOU AND THAT BOYFRIEND OF YOURS IN THERE!!" I hear the man scream and bang on my door.
I open my window quickly and quietly letting Elijah go first. He climbs out the window and goes down the tree quickly so I can go down. I climb out the window and climb down the tree and jump the rest of the way with Elijah helping me out in the process. We rush towards his motorcycle and I get on the back of it and wrap my hands around his waist. He starts his motorcycle and we head off to the school hoping that the man won't find us there.
We reach the school and he goes to park his ride behind the school just in case the man tries to find us here and cause a commotion. We both get off the motorcycle and rush into the school keeping our guard down. What the hell just happened?!
"How did he find out where I live?!" I exclaim while whispering to Elijah.
"I have no idea, we need to find Kaison and let him know."
"I agree, but now I have to tell my family. Now they're in danger. He could hurt my brother and my sister. I can't lose them. I-I just can't" I say letting a few tears run down my face. Elijah turns towards me and wraps his arms around me. I press my face onto his chest and let the tears smear into his shirt. He caresses his hand on my head and then unwraps himself from me and backs up a little bit giving me some space.
"You won't lose them. Let's try to go through the first half of school and tell them at lunch or whenever we can find them. He can't come into the school, there is way too many witnesses right?" he says to me calming me down a little bit.
"Right. And good thing is, I have class with Kaison second period. Plus there is no need to go to first period right now. It is halfway over by now. Let's just wait until the bell rings to find him."
"Sounds like a plan." Elijah says while we talk a walk around the school.
We walk around for awhile until we reach the front doors and see that the man is walking or rather running towards the front door. Elijah grabs my wrist and we both start running away from the man the best that we can do. He finds the men's locker room and we go hide in the handicapped locker, big enough for two people. Lucky us.
"How did he find us so quickly?" I whisper to Elijah.
"I have no idea." he whispers back to me. We hear the man's footsteps come into the locker room and I embrace myself for the disaster that is about to happen. He stops near the locker but before I could do anything Elijah slams the locker door open, slamming against the guy and grabs my wrist. We run as fast as we can until we reached the back door where his motorcycle is.
When we were about to reach the back door, we bump into Kaison. Oh thank god.
"What is going on and why are you with him?" Kaison asks me. I take a deep breath and explain it the best that I can.
"The guy from the other found out where I lived and now he is roaming the halls looking for me and him. We need to get the hell out of here." I grab a piece of paper with my sibling's classes on it and hand it to Kaison. "Find them and get them the hell out of here. Please."
"Okay. And I'll inform Dominick as well." he says running away looking for my siblings as fast as he can.
"Dominick knows?!" Elijah screams at me quietly.
"Yes, I will tell you about it later. Right now we need to get the hell out of here!" I exclaim. We head out of the school and head towards his motorcycle only to see the group of Black Dragons standing over Elijah's broken motorcycle. They notice us and walk towards. Elijah pulls me behind him and stands up when the men stop in front of him.
"Well, well. What do we have here? Who is this that you have with you?" one of the men asked Elijah.
"None of your damn business" Elijah replies with a growl in his breath. One of the men notices the hickey on my neck and chuckles.
"I see. He claimed this girl as his own. This is his bitch -" the man says but before he could finish his sentence Elijah swings at him knocking the man down to the ground, drawing blood from his nose.
Two other men start wailing on Elijah and two others come towards. I grab my pepper spray from the black leather jacket that Elijah let me borrow and open it up spraying both men in the eyes. The other two men that were wailing on Elijah come towards me but before they could reach me Kaison and Dominick come out and wails on the other two. I see Luckas with both of my siblings and he takes them to his car without question.
I grab Elijah's hand and all four of us head towards Dominick's car. I push Elijah into the back seat and we all head out of the school as fast as we could heading towards Lukas's house. Lucky us, they don't know where he lives. We reach his house shortly, get out of the car and head inside to go sit down in his living room while trying to catch our breath in the process.
"What the heck was that Ainslee?!" I hear Noah scream at me. I look over and see my little sister crying her eyes out. Luckas goes over and comforts her and I look back up at my brother.
"Okay. I am going to tell you two everything. Just calm down and I will tell you both everything."
And I literally told them everything. From when I encountered the men beating up Kaison in the back alley of the pizza place, to when one of the men almost took advantage of me. Then I told them how I was able to grab a bat and wail it on a gang member and get out of there in time. Which made the whole me dragging him into the house a bit more sense now. Then I tell them how Elijah found our house and that he stayed over to make sure nothing bad happened. I did skip the part of when Elijah and I made out and said that he stayed on the couch instead.
Lastly, I tell them about how he found us at home and somehow found us at the school and how we hid in the lockers and to when Elijah hit the man with the locker door and we ran out and bumped into Kaison. Then I told my siblings that I gave him their class schedule to Kaison so him, Dominick and Luckas can get them out of here safely to where they beat up Elijah's motorcycle and to where Elijah protected me until he couldn't anymore. Then I tell them that I pepper-sprayed two men in the face to where Dominick and Kaison came out and helped us out to where we are now.
"So you two are part of a frickin gang and now my sister is in danger?!" Noah exclaims.
"It is not their fault Noah, don't blame them" I reply to my brother.
"I agree with her, Noah. Please don't blame them. She was just trying to help them and to be honest, she did a hell of a lot to keep them alive." I hear Kinsley say to Noah.
"Okay. I won't blame them. But why did you keep this from us Ains?" Noah asks me.
"I kept this from you because I didn't want to put you guys in danger. But now, it is too late and now our whole family is in danger" I say pacing myself back and forth. Elijah gets up from the couch and embraces his arms around me calming me down. He lets go, sits back down on the couch and I take another deep breath to keep myself from breaking down again.
"Awe, how cute!" I hear Kinsley say while clapping with a smile on her face
"What do you mean by that?" I ask her.
"I ship you two so much! Don't change my mind" she replies with an even bigger smile on her face.
"Oh boy. I am just going to ignore what you just said right now" I reply trying to hide my flushed face by walking towards the kitchen and grabbing myself something to drink. I grab a bottle of water from the fridge and see Elijah standing there with his arms crossed his chest. He startles me in the process making water spout from the bottle and all over my face. I grab a washcloth behind and dry myself. I dry myself and I hear Elijah chuckle in the process.
"What are you laughing at?" I ask him while setting down the water and the washcloth.
"You jumped when you saw me. That startled look on your face was cute" he replies back with courage in his voice.
"Awh, you think I'm cute?" I say walking towards him and stop right in front of him, and stroke his thin-chiseled face.
He tries to keep a straight face but I can see the blush that is forming on his face. He gently grabs both of my wrists and quietly slams me against the kitchen wall, putting my hands above my head. He stares at me for a few seconds and wraps one of his arms around my waist keeping my wrists locked into his other hand and pulls himself closer to me and plants a rough but soft kiss on my lips. Then he lets go of his grip on my wrist and I wrap them around his waist. He grumbles and backs away from our kiss.
"Does that answer your question nerd?" he says with a smile plastered on his face.
"Yes, it does criminal" I reply with my face flushed a bright red.
"Oh, I am a criminal now. Again, how cute" he replies back with a chuckle in his voice.
"Yup. I am going to head back into the living room. Don't want them to get any ideas now do we Elijah?" I say winking at him and head back into the living room, leaving Elijah in the kitchen with his thoughts.
To think, I hated this guy with pure hatred. And now we can't stay away from each other. He spent the night in my house and told me that he hated me and that he was only doing a favor by keeping me safe for one night. Now, he gave me a hickey and were flirting with each other like nobody else is around. I think I like him. Who would've thought that this day would come? I surely didn't see this coming.
I like the bad guy in school, Elijah Woods. That'll be our little secret as well.
