故事背景：
村裡頭，人不多，就只有二十一戶人家。多戶人家都是住在禾草和柴枝搭成的小屋裡；單算務農不經商的，只有較為有錢的石老太一家，才有足夠財力，聘人從山上採石，運來砌石屋。石屋冬暖夏涼，雨天不漏水，打風天不怕屋會倒，每晚盡能安心入睡，難怪六十多歲的石老太身體仍然老當益壯，紅光滿面。村民都看得牙癢癢。
