總序

太初巨斧開天地，太極陰陽化兩儀。

萬物含靈歸四象，道玄無極妙幽奇。

話說，先天有五太。太易，未見氣。太初，始有氣。太始，陰陽交合。太素，氣凝成形。太極，分兩儀，兩儀化四象，四象生八卦，八卦演萬物，有形有質。故今所見物，皆氣所聚化而成。

然萬物有靈，皆因魂。人有三魂七魄，三魂為：「天魂、地魂、人魂」，七魄有：「屍狗、伏矢、雀陰、吞賊、非毒、陰穢、臭肺」。若不得善終，人魂浮世化惡鬼兇妖，因七魄影響，其生前性行以化其力，故厲鬼存怨非惡，鮮仁。而妖，修法而開竅，得人情人欲，化人形。有食人續壽，有借廟躲劫，有異術惑人，又有情，故流傳不少妖與人言情故事，惜後者少。但有巫、術、道、佛四者遊行在世，殺妖除魔，問何以為？見本夜譚一說。
