She felt hot and sticky.

With a layer of sweat

covering her entire body.

She sighed.

Looking up she could see

the dark cumulonimbus clouds passing.

The humidity was the worst part.

Her lips had became numb

they were dry and beginning to crack.

Her mouth was sticky due to lack of water.

Surely the torture would end soon.

She couldn't move.

If she moved it would be all over.

She tried focusing on her breathing.

In, Out, In, Out.

In through the nose

out through the mouth.

Breathing through the mouth

only made her mouth dryer.

Her legs ached.

She lost time of how long she had been standing.

The sun was the real enemy.

It glared at her

mocking her with its light.

Its beginning to burn the back of her neck.

From experience she can tell the time

by the position of the sun.

The torture should end soon.

Yet it wasn't torture.

It was her job.

No matter, it felt like torture.

A droplet of sweat fell in her eye.

As if everything else wasn't enough.

It stung but she couldn't move.

If she moved it would all be over.

She looked over to her fellow machines.

Standing, motionless.

They cant move.

If they move it'll all be over.

Finally a boom voice can be heard.

“Bring it in guys, bands over”.
